Cool! did you sculpt this entirely in 3DC?
  2. 1 pixel may pick a certain (true) color and the pixel next would sample false (see-through style) Edit > Project through and Backface culling have no effect This happens seemingly randomly, on various imported objects and from both ortho and non-ortho views
  3. Edit->Project through was checkboxed. Being a pretty critical checkbox, I believe it might be better to include it during the projection initiation dialogue (when users click Edit projection in ext. editor). I hate to admit it but, apparently, I was blind enough to have missed it, even though I often click the options just above it.
  4. Hello all, I've encountered a condition where projection painting writes data through the model, affecting hidden areas that typically shouldn't be affected. The front view on the left shows a red mark on the belt, the middle image shows the back view repeating the mark (the belt isn't mirrored front-back) and then the mark "x-rayed" on to the hair. The hair has its own UV set, but this happens on other parts of the model as well. I suspect this is a feature triggered by an accidental key stroke, since I've projected on this scene from another install (diff comp) and it worked fine. My best guess was backface culling, but that didn't fix it. Does anyone have an idea why is this happening?
  5. By default, Intuos touch-ring controls brush-size, where clock-wise turning increases brush size. This applies to both 3DC and PS and has thus far worked fine for me. I Installed 3DC on another laptop and the touch-ring behaves opposite: clock-wise decreases brush-size. The ring behaves normally in PS. Changing the touch-ring direction in not possible AFAIK in the Wacom Properties or otherwise. This is a rare problem but somebody complained ArtRage did the same for him, so this is possibly a 3DC bug. I am using the latest Intuos driver.
  6. Encountered this today during one of countless external editor sessions: The upper image is pre-edit. The one below shows the texture as it came back from PS. There are numerous pixelly distortions (circled in blue), all were created when the texture was sent to PS from 3DC. Solution was re-import theOBJ and reassign the textures, but still... This thread would typically go in the paint mode bugs forum, but that has not been updated for 2 years so... I also made a thread in 'features' forum which I intended to keep udpate but I am unable to reply to my own thread, I guess it was locked? if a mod can chip in here it would be nice
  7. Just had this happen with the latest ver. Not sure how it happened -- but the above solution worked: dargged RMB ti zoom in really close to the model, unclick, then zoom out really fast. Model got flipped back to normal. Non- orthographic view remained normal.
  8. I'm a new 3DC who uses it primarily for texturing. I have been texturing using PS v4 & mouse, moved on to 3D Paint & projection painting once and that was available and have recently started using 3DC. I mostly paint directly, however, I still edit the textures in PS via syncing. I noticed a few things: 1. If 2 or more layers are given the same name in PS they are misread/ignored. Layer/folder structure seem to be unfixable once this is done, either in PS or in 3DC. Layer/folders organizing in 3DC should be as PS's, generally, allowing the same control and interaction. 2. Hotkeys for zoom/rotate/pan in viewport/UV? the navigation menu offers no hotkey definition. I really like the UI being easily defined using mouseover + END key. 3. Hide selection: hide the animated checkboard that shows frozen elements, while keeping the elements themselves (mesh and texture) visible (similarly to CTRL-H in PS). I will likely keep updating this thread later on.
  9. You can select UV islands with the magic wand by setting the tool's Use Color checkbox off.
