  1. what a great post Zeddicus. I will follow your advice and make sure everything is working as it should. For now i spray with an special cleaner the pc fan and now it runs smoothly. I will run 3d Coat now and with one of those applications i will check how much my system increase in temperature. Many thanks for the help, is highly appreciate it.
  2. thanks for the help, i`m going to try that.
  3. thanks. Yes, i`m using the latest Beta 4 build as a demo. And is great, it has many great features. But it seems that i will have to wait to use it until i have new hardware....
  4. Hi I try 3d coat some years ago and i love it, but at the time i had a problem of 3d coat overheating my pc to the point that i had to change the fan ventilation. I though it could be a coincidence but now that i tryng again 3d coat i having the same issue with overheating and the pc fan getting faulty. I search around and it seems some others are having the same issue. I found a very old topic of 2008 saying just that http://3d-coat.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1674 Is there something i can do to prevent 3d coat overheating my pc?...., or in any case are there plans to change the way 3d coat works, which as i read it works like a video game. Many Thanks best regards
  5. Yes please. Put back SHIFT for smoothing in to the MOVE tool and put the option for normal move to the CTRL key. Also if you have the time. I will like to request again the option to maintain the Size, Depth and Falloff of each brush independently. Make this an option of switch on and off....PLEASE Thanks
  6. ABOUT THE PROBLEM WITH INCREASING RESOLUTION Andrew, the issue that i mention earlier about not having the option to increase resolution is perhaps maybe related somehow when using the carve tool and lasso to cut big areas of mesh...If i just increase the resolution of the defaul sphere that appears when entering the voxel mode i have the option to increase the resolution to about 5 million Triangles.... But if i merge an small sphere and delete the default one i just have the option to subdivide between 300 thousand and 600 thousand.... If i just delete with carve and one of the lasso tools big areas of the DEFAULT sphere the result is the same.......So it seems that perhaps using that tool somehow eats a lot of memory...?......
  7. No, i check this and the symmetry plane was always in the exact center...The latest alpha seems to still have the issue but not as much as the previous alpha-17....I'm almost sure that is because of the move tool....there is an small, almost instantaneous, processing every time the move brush move the mesh..i think is in this moment when the symmetry don't work and therefore the yellow dot on the opposite side don't match and the symmetry broke....This not always happen... So my vote is to perhaps check the move tool please. PROBLEM WITH FILE SIZE AND INCREASING RESOLUTION In the latest alpha i have an issue...All files save with a very big size in the disk....this cause an slow interaction and it is not possible to increase the resolution...As an example a 600,000 triangles mesh is in size almost 23 megas while other mesh of nearly 1,400,000 triangles is in size almost 10 megas in previous alphas...and i can still have the option to subdivide the mesh because, i suppose, of the small memory size in the hard drive....that as i said was in the previous alphas.....But now with the big size files there is not option to increase resolution to more than 500,000 or 600,000 This happen when merging the default sphere that came in the samples folder and deleting the default sphere that came with voxel sculpting. Thanks
  8. Thanks Andrew, is weird that you did not have issues since it happen to me three times..... Anyways, i'm going to test it out to see how symmetry is working now With symmetry syncronisation you mean working one half first and then applying symmetry..?....
  9. Thanks Andrew...I hope that the SYMMETRY BUG that i reported earlier was fixed as well...That bug is a BIG ONE..
  10. Symmetry is not working right It has happen already three time so i suppose it's a bug. 1-Activate symmetry across X - axis 2-Start the volumetric mode and select "Merge" 3-Then hit "select mesh" and select the sphere from the samples folder of 3dcoat 3 alpha. 4-Scale the sphere to make it much more smaller than the default volumetric sphere. 5-Subdivide several time until it gets smooth and hit enter. 6-Delete the other default bigger sphere with the carve tool and the lasso. 7-the little sphere is now about 30000 triangles. 8-Begin to shape the sphere using a lot of the "move tool" in BIG size and also the "Spray/thaw" tool. 9-Eventually the yellow dot that represent the opposite side will not be in the right place, which mean that could be in the air or to much inside in the mesh....In any case it is not in the exact spot in the opposite side...Some time this mean that you brush one side and the other is not influenced...or viceversa..you brush one side very lightly and the other side receive a big and strong influence.... I must add that the symmetry plane was always exactly in the center and also the sphere that i merge in the scene..at the beginning i check that the yellow dot is represented in the exact spot in the opposite side..this happen just some time later after using the brushes...mainly the MOVE tool and the spray/thaw tool... Please Andrew fix this BUG... Thank you.
  11. Great update, specially REAL TIME SHADOWS....WONDERFUL. THANKS ANDREW
  12. Yes, me too , freezing like in Mudbox or Zbrush to lock parts of the mesh so they are not influenced by the brush. The hiding part of your question was already answer by Andrew a couple of pages earlier, that's why i just remark the "masking" in the question.
