Contour ShuttleXpress 3D Input Device

Excellent piece of kit. I use it in Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Premiere Pro, After Effects, Reason, 3ds Max and Mudbox, and it has increased my workflow, no end. Easy to set up. Highly recommended.

In the Contour forum there is an information asking how to use it in zbrush

We just wrote to Pixologic about developing settings for zBrush

Q: I installed the Shuttle driver for Windows 7/Vista, the Windows hibernation feature does not work properly. Is there a fix for that?

A: There is an incompatibility with our Shuttle hardware and Windows 7 and Vista which causes hibernation issues. Unfortunately it cannot be remedied with an update to the driver. We have changed manufacturers and there is a new version of the Shuttle Pro v2 that has been released which will resolves this issue.

I would instead recommend trying a 3DConnexion device. I haven't seen anything even remotely close to it. If price is an issue, they have different models, plus you should be able to find a SpacePilot (discontinued top model...but still has much more functionality than the 2nd best current model...SpaceExplorer) for very cheap ($50-75). They are designed to work in 3D Applications. The Shuttle is not. It is designed to provide Video Editors and similar application type users, a device that puts most of their hotkeys at their fingertips.

SpacePilot does the same thing, except it has a puck as a 3D joystick of sorts. The puck is effectively the object in the screen. You push it, pull it, orbit it around, etc.
