Member Crusoe Posted October 31, 2008 Member Report Share Posted October 31, 2008 Using Sphere tool, display is slightly corrupted. Looks fine when rotating, but the garbage reappears when stopping. philnolan3d Posted October 31, 2008 Report Share Posted October 31, 2008 Strange bug in 35. On my laptop I tried to draw a staright line with the curve tool. I hit enter when done then Esc to clear the tool. When hitting Esc. I got this weird lines that look like bead curtains on either side of the curve. ignore the messy sculpture , the line I drew is below that. Edit: Here's another one. hitting Clear adds the new sphere, but does not clear out the rest. Edit 2: More curves. Apparently this Curve issue is a major memory leak! I did the same thing as above on my desktop and as soon as I hit Esc my computer froze up. I let it go for a while and could eventually move the mouse. By the time I got the Task Manager open 3DC said it was using over 3GB of ram and rapidly rising. A few seconds later I got an out of memory error and was able to make 3DC shut down. Sometimes it work, sometimes i have results like this in the picture. And sometimes i make some modifications on the voxel model then i convert to polys again and the model don't have my modifications. One is the picture on voxels the other on polys. The missing spots are in "box" shapes like it was a quadrant of screen space that was missed. This image is what happens when I start a new volumetric sculpture with CUDA on and hit Increase Resolution twice without touching anything else. This next one shows how it's not possible to paint on a Transpose selection in a tight area. When trying to paint just the bottom, you will always hit the top as well. philnolan3d Posted December 1, 2008 Report Share Posted December 1, 2008 I've gone back to version 40 since 41 and 42 are not really useful for me besides testing. So maybe this was fixed. While I'm working with the GL64 version I'll randomly see my whole screen go black for maybe 2 seconds, then a popup says something like "The display driver crashed and recovered". When I click OK everything goes back to the way it was except for 3DC. 3DC now has an all white interface (everything but the Windows title bar) and after about a minute this error pops up. When I click OK 3DC closes. There's no warning when this happens it's totally random. So far it has occurred during sculpting and retopo, but it may not even matter what I'm doing. Advanced Member GED Posted December 6, 2008 Advanced Member Report Share Posted December 6, 2008 Hi Im using alpha 42 at work the voxel sculpting seems to work fine there I have a q6600 2GB ram nvidia 8500 genius graohics tablet at home I have amd 3500+ 2GB ram 8800GT wacom graphire4 I find the normal voxel sculpting brush fine but when I hold ctrl...which is supposed to invert the brush function...it seems to do a smooth function rather than invert or have very little power.
