Contributor tree321 Posted May 13, 2009 Author Contributor Report Share Posted May 13, 2009 Very nice animals. But how much megabytes of ram do you have, to skulpt this detailed objects? Taros, I have 8 gigs (64 bit), but I would think 3-4 gigs would be adequate. My early work was done with only 1 gig. and I got pretty good detail there. But some of my newer work pushes my system to the limit. Contributor tree321 Posted May 15, 2009 Author Contributor Report Share Posted May 15, 2009 Thanks folks! Today's sculpt.Another one for the African Safari collection. A Mother's love A Mother's Love A Mother's love is something that no on can explain, It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain, It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may For nothing can destroy it or take that love away . . . It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking, And it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking . . . It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns, And it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems . . . It is far beyond defining, it defies all explanation, And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation . . . A many splendored miracle man cannot understand And another wondrous evidence of God's tender guiding hand. By Helen Steiner Rice. I think the same could be said for a Father's love. Well don't be expecting too much of 3D Coat, I think Tree had made most of these beforehand. Although I'm pretty certain with all his experience he could model faster than the rest of us!. But just don't be expecting to model a cheetah and then a detailed elk an hour later.
Advanced Member splodge Posted May 17, 2009 Advanced Member Report Share Posted May 17, 2009 Cheetah Oooh!, it's always difficult sculpting animals with stripes or spots. Obviously the stripes or spots rarely have form and yet if we don't sculpt those details then it can be hard to distinguish the animal from other animals. I had this problem once with a zebra - it looked like a donkey without its stripes! You've handled the problem well! Very brave!

Contributor tree321 Posted May 18, 2009 Author Contributor Report Share Posted May 18, 2009 Love Lies Bleeding (In my Hand) I was lying in bed last night trying to sleep listening to this song by Elton John called Funeral For A Friend (love Lies Bleeding) and had the inspiration to create this sculpt. I had a hand made for a previous sculpt and modified it for this work.It doesn't really go with the song lyrics but the passion of the song was moving and motivating. So here is the result of that moment of inspiration. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:

Isaiah 53:5 A beautiful peace Tree, perhaps it needs even more um... damage, not so much blood but if you ever watched Mel Gibson's "The Passion" which imo tells the truth about the viciousness of the Romans , then the hands need a little more oomph in my humble opinion, artistically i mean

Advanced Member GED Posted May 19, 2009 Advanced Member Report Share Posted May 19, 2009 wow loads of new works, where do you find the time? I think the cheetah one is abit odd cause of those grass spikes under him and the way all the grass/foliage goes in the same direction as the cat.
