Advanced Member herve_bis Posted October 27, 2015 Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 27, 2015 hello There I think we need Vector disp baking in 3D coat.. That would be a must, we could also simplify our retopo meshes when there are lots of nooks and crannies.. thank you for considering it. h/
Carlosan
Hi ! VD works only with microvertex. Is not useful ? ----------------------- Sidenote: There is two types of vector displacement 1) World space vector displacement - RGB in picture mean XYZ shift in space. It is most precise method, but it is not good for animation. 2) Tangent space (local space) displacement - RGB mean shift in TBN - space, N- normal, T,B - directions of U,V gradient. This kind of displacement is good for animation but less precise because tangent space calculation can be made using many methods, it even can be non - orthogonal. Advanced Member herve_bis Posted October 27, 2015 Author Advanced Member Report Share Posted October 27, 2015 well in a way we do have VD.. but what would be very useful is to be able to bake a VD on a retopo mesh From the Sculpt room.. ah well..

Advanced Member vidi Posted January 8, 2016 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 8, 2016 Hi ! VD works only with microvertex. Is not useful ? Do that really work anyway? if so is there a workflow example or video ?
Advanced Member ScrotieFlapWack Posted January 26, 2016 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 26, 2016 (edited) You can export your mesh from the paint room when in microvertex mode and import that into the voxel room and retopo and UV and bake from there. Just need to export your model after microvertex and import into the voxel room I did this workflow last night xD Edited January 26, 2016 by ScrotieFlapWack
