Using 3DCoat in my concept art

Hey everyone!

I've decided to venture into 3dcoat and try to utilize it into my concept work. I've been trying to find a way of combining 3d and 2d into a quick and efficient process. After being introduced to 3dcoat by Jama Jurabaev's LearnSquared course I knew I had to give it a go for myself.

The workflow I'm looking at is: Sketching out initial Ideas > 3dcoat sketch > Textures > Photoshop for paintover and turnarounds.

I'd love for this to become a staple in my workflow and to be able to present clients with full interactive concepts.

Here is my first attempt, It took around 4 hours including the little bit of painting and the learning of the program!~

I loved the process and would love to learn more. You can find the raw 3d model's turnaround here.

My question is, what tool would be the best to position the base T pose character? I usually work on characters and I would like to work out an easy way to pose the base model into a gesture. I can use the Pose tool but I was just wondering if there was a more efficient method?

Cheers

Nice concept work... The pose tool works ok but we have been asking for a more advanced posing system. Some kind of simple armature system with falloff would be great...

In the pose tool panel Select "Free Form". That will give you some better control though it is a little bit of learning curve on how best to use it. Also use the edit pose falloff to have more gentle falloffs.

Do all your posing at lower voxel count for speed and anatomy correction purposes.
