Earlier this year, we released a new version of the AMD Radeon™ ProRender 2 SDK on GPUOpen. This exciting release added many new features such as Cryptomatte AOVs, Deformation Motion Blur, Subsurface Scattering, and more.

Now we are updating select Radeon ProRender plug-ins incorporating the latest Radeon ProRender SDK and more. We have included updates for our Blender® add-on, Autodesk® Maya® plug-in, and the SideFX® Houdini™ (USD) plug-in.

Radeon ProRender for Blender 3.5.0 Released

The new version comes with support for Blender 3.3 and 3.4, brings improvements to the RPR Interactive mode, and adds a new Bevel Shader

AMD has announced the release of Radeon ProRender for Blender 3.5.0, a new and improved version of the company's free physically-based rendering engine that is available as a plug-in for Blender. The updated version of the plug-in comes with tons of novel features designed to make its usage in the latest versions of Blender more convenient, including support for Blender 3.3 and 3.4, support for IES lights and shadow catchers, and a new node for creating small rounded edges.

Here's the full list of new features:

  • Support for Blender 3.3 and Blender 3.4, including support for the new hair system.
  • Better support for more shader node types.
  • Even faster rendering with optimized settings out of the box.
  • Hair rendering support.
  • More AOVs supported.
  • Support for OpenColorIO texture spaces.
  • Shadow Catcher support.
  • IES lights are now supported.
  • A new Bevel Shader node that can be used to create small rounded edges on objects.
  • Support for the Double Sided node.
  • The "Pixel Filter" (anti-aliasing) setting for the RPR Final mode has been re-enabled.
