New Member flouch Posted February 21, 2017 New Member Report Share Posted February 21, 2017 Hello there I'm a now C4d user, after Maya and 3dsMax (long tme ago) and and I'm considering buy 3D-Coat, mainly for it's UV facilities. Really noob question but can't figure out if 3dCoat can do UV transfert from one Meshe to another meshes with different topology (but same shape). Don't speak about texture baking but really about UV projection, like projection modifier in 3dsMax or UVTransfert tool in maya. I can't find it by myself in the demo (remember I'm a 3dCoat noob), and my search (google, forum etc… ) all time brings me back to texture baking. I'm probably miss something because I can't believe 3dCoat don't do this kind of stuff.
Javis
Hey there! Welcome. 3DC does not do that. Transferring UVs is a pretty complicated thing to do, believe it or not. That's why it's really only in the bigger more "expensive" DCCs like Modo, Maya and Max.

Contributor Tony Nemo Posted February 22, 2017 Contributor Report Share Posted February 22, 2017 If the objects are the same but with different UVs, I would import the object in Sculpt (perhaps 'Without Voxelization') and in Retopo, load the desired mesh which you can use for the sculpt object. Javis
7 hours ago, Carlosan said: Hi The tool Import UV help your workflow ? That only works within 3DC exported UVs itself. It's like the preset system in 3DC, if you saved one out of 3DC, you can import it. It doesn't work with other meshes, only the exact same mesh, because the vertex order must be exactly the same.
