Hello, Im having trouble selecting things in the uv room

currently i have imported an obj file which is made from multiple objects that share one same uv

my idea is to have one of those two objects scaled down and make it fit in the gaps from the first obj uv space , I would like to know how can i select all uv isles that are related to any object so that i can move them around, so far it seems that the only way i can do any kind of selection is by click each isle inside the uv texture window

thanks

Hi and first Welcome to the 3DC fourms.

3DC is a deep program and there are few ways of doing the same thing depending upon your workflow. That is the reason it is best to share a picture plus what method you used for importing the model. Also important is what version of 3DC you are using.

The more detailed workflow you can give saves from giving a shoot in the dark answer.

Share a pic and a few more workflow details, then I can do my best to answer.

This is not the same problem, so sorry for going off track, but even after all these years of using 3DC I am still confused as to why when I create and object with UV in an external program and import it using Surface Sculpting, the UV's do not show up.

Workflow.

  • Create object with UV in external program
  • Open 3DC
  • Import/Surface Sculpting
  • No UV  's found
