Member Combatkat Posted April 30, 2017 Member Report Share Posted April 30, 2017 I am watching videos on 3d Coat. there are many of them but I haven't found one on this subject. I want to make clothing for models but not sure where to start I have seen some videos that use retopo first then I see others that use sculpting but I dont know which one. There are some really interesting speedsculpting videos but not helpful in telling me how they do it. Regardless I would like to know the difference between the 2 sculpting modes thanks. Contributor Tony Nemo Posted April 30, 2017 Contributor Report Share Posted April 30, 2017 Voxels are like 3D pixels (made of clay, let's say) and are very good for creating a model that needs only surface details added. It is the preferred medium for doing booleans without errors. You can start in surface mode if that is your choice but it really shines when details are to be added (especially with the automatic tessellation used in the Live Clay tools).
