Tablet doesn't get to drag 2 ways for brush size/strength?

Hey guys.  Really, REALLY knew to 3D coat here.  Didn't even know this program existed until a little over a month ago!
So, after trying it a little bit, and fumbling a lot, I figured out a few things I was getting wrong.  I wasn't raising my regular
brush strength, for example.  So a lot of tools weren't producing any output.  And when playing with that, I found a rather
discouraging fact about 3D coat.  It apparently treats tablets and mice differently.

What I mean by that, is the feature that exists where if you right click and hold with the mouse, and drag horizontally, it
changes the brush size, but drag vertically and you get brush strength.  However, on the tablet it's a different story.  If I
hold the pen button for right-click and drag vertically I get brush size.  But brush strength?  I have to hold shift -and- the
pen button while vertically dragging to change that.  My 3D mouse doesn't have shift and other such buttons, it's just a
basic space mouse wireless.  So that means I have to take my hand off the space mouse every time I want to change
brush size!  It doesn't sound like much, but the more times I have to switch to my keyboard, the more my left wrist is
going to be twisting, which will lead to a lot of problems later on.

So, is there some way to address this?  So that a right click will be the same wether it's on a mouse or a tablet?
Or is this one of those cases where I just have to get used to the limitation of a program, and hope things don't get
worse later?  Thanks guys.

On my Intuos Wacom tablet, it works as expected.  Hovering over the tablet ----- Vertical changes the brush depth and horizontally changes brush radius size.

I am using the default custom navigation located under the Camera menu--- Custom Navigation "3D-Coat"
