Reputable Contributor digman Posted June 21, 2017 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted June 21, 2017 (edited) A lot of you know this already but here it is for those who do not know about the now included Disney Principled BSDF Shader in Blender for the Cycles renderer. Download a official test build here... I downloaded the window's 64 version. 2.78.5 is on the way to become 2.79 https://builder.blender.org/download/ There a number of PBR shaders out there but now Blender will have it's own default PBR shader for Cycles. If you are not familiar with using a PBR shader in Blender then here is Andrew Price's video on using the principled shader. He first goes over each input and then at the end hooks some PBR image textures using the Metalness / Roughness workflow. Advanced Member stusutcliffe Posted June 23, 2017 Advanced Member Report Share Posted June 23, 2017 Thats a really good video from Andrew, he is good at what he does. Worth watching even if you do not use Blender. (I dont.) I have just started rendering with Daz Studio because of Iray . I assume the Iray "Uber shader" is a similar animal to this "Principled" shader.
