Member Haunted Posted July 26, 2017 Member Report Share Posted July 26, 2017 I would like to know if it's possible to set the preferences folder of 3D Coat to a custom folder (in my case my Google Drive folder). I am planning to use 3D Coat on my Desktop and Notebook. This would be really helpful to share my 3D Coat settings (especially all custom keyboard shortcuts)
Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted July 26, 2017 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted July 26, 2017 You could just upload a copy of your "MyDocs/3D Coat 4.7" folder to that Google Drive and download > overwrite the one on your laptop or desktop, as needed.
Member Haunted Posted July 26, 2017 Author Member Report Share Posted July 26, 2017 Okay, that's a possible solution. But then I have to always think about copying the newest changes to Google Drive. If there is no other possibility, does 3D Coat have a plugin API? Otherwise I will have to write a little tool myself that keeps track of any changes in the folder and creates a backup. Carlosan
On both Linux and Windows you can easily create a symbolic link to refer to another location, I hope this little trick will help you.
