UV Mapping Object Crashes

Recommended Posts

I am opening a obj, and proceeding to create seams, but 3d Coat v8.v4.04 keeps crashing.  I'm on an iMac using macOS High Sierra 10.13.2.

I can save the file, and add a few seams, but it keeps crashing periodically (random moment), especially when I start working. Interestingly, it won't crash as long as I don't touch the object, but as soon as I start working to add seams it crashes.

There are no Ngons or Triangles, all quads, but is that a known issue?

I found that if uncheck off Preview Islands or completely close the UV Preview window, it no longer crashes. Whatever is causing it, I think it's related to that Preview Window.

I think there was a problem in that version. I can not remember for sure but I think it was. Update to the newest beta version of 3DC. You can run both the version you have and the beta version. Test the new version and see if the problem is fixed.
