Member bvknotty Posted February 3, 2018 Member Report Share Posted February 3, 2018 I've been having problems when "unwrapping" certain models. For example I made a jumpsuit for a Daz model, and when unwrapped the arms and legs curl in weird ways. It's not as bad if I cut the islands into a bunch of smaller pieces, but then I get annoying seams, flipped polys and some parts still want to curl. The relax tool doesn't seem to be the answer, any ideas?

Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted February 5, 2018 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted February 5, 2018 You can report this to Andrew (support@3dcoat.com), as I've noticed similar behavior. It's a little on the high side, in terms of poly count, but it should do a better job than that. It's always a good practice to do your UV's while the model is still in a Low-Poly state. I mentioned something about the UV unfolding in the 4.8 Beta thread, but nothing came of it. Hopefully, a few others mentioning it to Andrew will get his attention. He has a lot of irons in the fire, so to speak, so it may take some extra voices, to be heard.
Member bvknotty Posted February 6, 2018 Author Member Report Share Posted February 6, 2018 I'll re-topo and see if less polys makes a difference, thanks for the suggestion.
Member bvknotty Posted February 6, 2018 Author Member Report Share Posted February 6, 2018 Wow, I guess my workflow was a little backwards, this is much more acceptable.
