I even sent a PM to Andrew, it would be nice to have in 3DCoat :drinks:

you will still need UVs when u bake out to a game engine, but nevertheless its cool tech!

but PTex means that all detail will be painted uniform across model at first. But then stand the chance of being distorted when you map a UV? So techincally it would still be prudent to map UVs first as always I suppose

Disney's Ptex paint program seems to work in projection mode, and if i understand, without paint layers unlike in Ps, bodypaint or 3d coat.

If ptex is added, i'm wondering if we'll be able to use 3dc paint layers, and ptex local resolution.
