Member operation Posted August 6, 2010 Member Report Share Posted August 6, 2010 Hi, If found sometime difficult to retopo a geometry because the polygons disapear under the high mesh. In Topogun, the polygons generated during retopology are always drawn over the reference geometry (kind of additif or screen mode in photoshop). It make the retopolygy more easy (ie: more easy to split edge, select a polygon to delete, etc. ) of course that means to improve the raycasting mode to select edge under the reference geometry. Can you add a Layer slider for the reference geometry too, to control the transparency with backculling. That way the retopo polygons "overlay" the reference object and come in the forground for a better visibility. As you can see on those video, the retopo polygons are always on top. http://www.topogun.com/media/videos.htm thanks

Javis
Understood! I agree on some transparency setting, this is needed. Also a solution to those polygons "dipping" into the surface exists. If you use the Z-Bias on the top bar to control how far it goes in or out from the base sculpt or mesh to get a better view of the retopo mesh. Member mash Posted August 11, 2010 Member Report Share Posted August 11, 2010 Wouldn't it be nice if the base mesh was on it's own layer that could just be turned on or off? Thanks, michael
