Member Steve C Posted September 21, 2010 Member Report Share Posted September 21, 2010 I have noticed that there are several codecs used for the creation of tutorials. I had hoped not to have to download DIVIX as its a crappy codec for anything but simple movies. Quicktime or mp4 is best as its supported by both mac/pc and I believe Linux as well. The movies are much cleaner and I can even play them on my Iphone. Could we have them set up to work on a set standard please? Thanks. philnolan3d
Divx, crappy? It is very often used for watching feature length films and TV shows, small file size and looks great for compressed video. I haven't actually seen any DivX tutorials here but assuming you're talking about unofficial ones, these are voluntarily put up by users, you can't really complain too much. In fact most of the official ones are also done voluntarily as far as I know. If I do any I personally just put them up on YouTube and/or Vimeo, that really seems like the best option to me. Member Colwax Posted October 4, 2010 Member Report Share Posted October 4, 2010 Your best option would be to use the FREE media player called VLC, as it'll play everything. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
