Folks,

While I was evaluating 3DC, I tried both OGL and DX 64-bit versions and didn't notice anything in particular. The DX version is said to be "faster".

Does anyone have any comments about one vs. the other from the standpoint of: stability, performance, display quality?

In DX the framerate is around 20% faster for me. I guess the DX version is currently more optimized, at least for consumer graphic cards.

OGL port is the only option for Unix and Mac users, so i believe it does make sense for the developer to optimize OGL more (and maybe drop DX at some point).

Regarding display quality and stability i dont see any differences, DX just displays faster and therefore gives you a little better response.

This is true too, for ATi cards as well. Their Pro equivalent is the FireGL series of cards.
