I create some like this, with vertical seam when I want to test 3DC. Normally you have to avoid this. Of course as many seams exist the less stretching you'll have. But less seams are more advanced. About predator topo,If you dont plan on animating every tiny muscles on the face and make him play a Jim Carrey part, I dont think retopo needs a that much more work.Im pretty sure it would work alright as it is right now.
