Member macklebee Posted October 30, 2010 Member Report Share Posted October 30, 2010 Sorry if this is covered somewhere else, but I am not seeing anywhere that explains how to create your own custom shader using your own textures. Can anyone give details on how this is accomplished? thanks.

Contributor BeatKitano Posted October 31, 2010 Contributor Report Share Posted October 31, 2010 If you're talking about using a mat sphere, it's pretty easy, click on a material create a new one, select the sphere you want, done. If you're talking about creating something else than mat sphere, then your only shot is modifying an existing one with a text editor. Advanced Member michalis Posted November 1, 2010 Advanced Member Report Share Posted November 1, 2010 Maybe this is easier, I hope it helps. There're categories of shaders. To use a custom texture (rocks marbles whatever) just choose a rocky like shader, ask to make a new one. Now on dialog box choose the texture you want. I suppose you already created a square 512x512 jpg or so texture, seamless as possible of course. Play with bumpiness too. I noticed that these bumps are passing to normal map when baking later.
