In order to avoid starting too many threads, thought I'd start putting my work here. :)

Here's my WIP of Herman Munster caricature. About 1 hour into it so far.

Thanks for looking!

He he! I Like his jaunty smile.

Look like is acting as an human though he's not.

I used to watch the Munsters as a child (yes, I'm getting old!). The last thing Herman was -was- scary. :) Going to work on it some more tomorrow. Thanks for looking & commenting!

Thanks guys! Here's a -small- update. Trying to get a little more of his personality showing and make it look more like Herman than a generic goofy monster. :)

I'm going to add most details in paint room when I get it there.

Thanks Sandro. Working on the hair a little now, then to paint. :)

Yes, you're gonna love painting! I agree, this is a fantastic program, and just keeps getting better.

#9 > Oh this Frankenstein really smiles!

Don't get mad at me... When I saw the pic I first thought it was Roger Daltrey...

Yeah, That's stupid I know.

Can' wait to see it painted.

Roger Daltrey? Lol... guess they do have similar chins & nose :D

Going to work some more today I hope! I don't think Herman has much color in his face, so that's good. I always like to save paint! ;)

I think he's ready to paint now. 2k UV map assigned.

I'm happy with the likeness and the degree of exaggeration. :)

Looking at the pictures of him I see they painted black around his nostrils, eyes and lips. Gonna be fun! :D

Thanks for looking.

Thanks Leigh! I've already moved onto painting it now, but may tweak your suggestions before it's over with. :)

Here's a quick progress render anyhow. Haven't started the hair or ears yet. Least happy at this moment with his coat.

Constructive comments & critiques always welcomed.

May be it is a little too early to say something about painting.

Personally I like slightly blue tinted shades; but may be black

is better for the topic you chose.

What's wrong with the coat? Is it the fiber feel?

Hi Garaparape! Thanks for looking. :) I've attached the picture I'm referencing for my caricature.

The picture below is the most typical expression of him I've found - it definitely says 'Herman Munster'!

On my sculpt the fabric just looks wrong to me and yes, maybe the fabric type, or it looks somehow glossy, though there's no specularity on it.

I really need to get this one done before I get bored or discouraged with it and put it in my 'I'll finish that one, some day' file. That drawer is so full...

I actually see so many things I'm not happy with that my inclination is to just start over, but that's almost a guarantee that it will never be finished! lol

I'm calling this one finished! Happy enough with it and I'm ready to move on. :)

I did a little photoshop work (added background etc.) on the one with the house. The other is straight out of the render room, crop and name added in Photoshop but otherwise un-retouched.

Thanks for looking and for your comments & suggestions along the way. :)

Great sculpture and character :clapping:

A render using rim lights could be more convincing.

Thanks Michalis! I may give that a try. I appreciate your comments and suggestions.

Here he is with a little more tweaking. I used a rim light and applied it as screen mode, but brought it way down in photoshop. Anyhow, this is a pretty big file, so you can see detail. Hope you like it. :) I am definitely calling this one finished - for now lol

Take away the Frankenstein elements and you have a good caricature of "Andy" in the American version of The Office. :)

Hmmm.... Andy on The Office is a big goof, and so was Herman, so I guess that works. :)
