Advanced Member 3dCoatWannabe Posted January 21, 2011 Advanced Member Report Share Posted January 21, 2011 I saw a thread on the Lightwave forum asking about creating a woman's face from photos. The video was interesting: ftp://ftp.newtek.com/pub/LightWave/True_Art/EasySplit_3.mov And I wondered if there were a tutorial like this (hopefully, integrating the side view also) for 3D-Coat, which would seem a better tool for this purpose than Lightwave anyway? Or, is there some 3rd party solution, kind of like photosculpt, that would make this a piece of cake for those less artistically talented? Psmith
Using the "Camera" menu, "Background/Choose ref image . . .", select an image of your head model for the x, y and z axes. Position them in space so that they are large enough to give you the detail you need to begin sculpting. Then, I'm afraid, its pretty much up to you how to proceed. I'd suggest using the "Move" tool quite a lot, since it is one of the most versatile. Follow the use of the "Move" tool with the "Airbrush" tool. Only use "Res+" when it is absolutely necessary, since increasing resolution slows down most voxel operations. By using only a few tools, you actually learn to master these before proceeding to others. Only use the tools you need. Greg Smith
