Member Bin Posted September 22, 2011 Member Report Share Posted September 22, 2011 Hi, people, really nice to join the voxel world here~ One question I have is about the camera. when I was using the " Curve " tool to place red sphere nodes, I couldn't rotate the camera unless use the tiny button on the right top of the view port. Alt + RMB on empty space only pans the camera. same thing happened when I press "E" and try to use freehand drawn countours (lasso)... and a lot more tools as well so I was wondering if there is a different control for the camera when activating these tools? thanks
philnolan3d
Hmm it works fine here with the default controls. Alt+LMB rotates Alt+MMB pans alt+RMB zooms You can try not using Alt and just LMB drag in the border area around the edge of the viewport (the 'Navi Zone") if it still doesn't work you can reset the controls to the default by going to Camera (upper right) > Custom Navigation > 3D-Coat
Member Bin Posted September 22, 2011 Author Member Report Share Posted September 22, 2011 Thanks Phil, I found I was using the "ZB like" navigation, when switch to default "3D Coat" style, everything works fine now
philnolan3d
Glad to hear that. I use a 3D mouse for 3DC so I almost forgot what the regular controls were supposed to be.
Advanced Member Spiraloid Posted September 23, 2011 Advanced Member Report Share Posted September 23, 2011 Glad to hear that. I use a 3D mouse for 3DC so I almost forgot what the regular controls were supposed to be. which mouse do you use? I've been looking for one since I like sculpting with two hands in real life. I tried the spacenavigator, but for simple turntable movment the spring loaded input made me crazy. these guys make a good trackball, but they don't sell them. I'd love to hear what other people use -b
philnolan3d
I have a Spacepilot. It's not the Pro model, but it only cost me $50 on eBay.
