Question regarding Hard Surfaces Modelling and Concept Meshing

Hi all!

The past week I brought from EAT 3D the dvds "Hard Surface Modelling 1 & 2" but I'm having a problem with the mesh concepting part of the DVD_1. http://eat3d.com/zbrush_hardsurface (If you don't have the dvd, you can see the 7th image from left to right to know what I'm talking about).

The dvd doesn't give you any info of how the concept mesh was done, and since I'm still new to Zbrush (but loving it thus far biggrin2.gif) I really don't know how could I start this mesh and obtain something similar to what they get at the DvD.

Any advice or tutorial which can point me to the right direction would be very appreciated! I have done a lot of modelling in 3ds Max but I really want to make my first high-end-detail model in Zbrush frown.png

Thank you so much for your time! Looking forward for answers!

PS. Sorry if wrong section I'm still new here[/indent]

Someone asking a 3D Coat support question in the ZBrush forums and now someone seeking help with ZBrush on the 3D Coat forum in the same week. I don't have a problem with it, just thought it was a funny coincidence. :)

Have you tried asking Mike Jensen himself? He recently posted on ZBrush Central when someone asked him about his interface. You can send him a private message here:

Eat3D also has their own forum which might be worth signing up for. He has a comment wall here:

His page at DeviantArt:

His user page at CGTalk:

And a thread where he talks about this particular mesh:

http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=960366

And a thread where he talks about a similar mesh:

Surely making use of one of those resources will get his attention eventually.
