Member ToreB Posted April 28, 2016 Member Report Share Posted April 28, 2016 In an instructional video on youtube a broad selection of sculpt room shaders can be seen: In my installation of 3D-coat (latest beta) only some of those shaders are present: I have tried to uninstall and reinstall, but the full selection of shaders in the sculpt room never appears. Any advice on how to obtain them?
Carlosan
Hi ! The shader library was changed at version 4.5.29 - Shading using PBR was essentially changed. Now GGX lighting natively supported. What does it actually means -1) Almost all voxel sculpting shaders are PBR compatible now. Each shader has rich set of parameters, including different textures, sss, gloss, metalness, cavity and bulge settings. Very good support of cavity and bulge is present in realime.2) All PBR shaders effects (except pseudo SSS effect) are exactly baked into paint room.3) PicMat-s are also present but it is not guaraneed that they will be baked correctly, so use them only on intermediate stage.4) GGX exact support means compatibility with most of current engines and renders.5) Painting over mesh is "as is" without modulation on background shader color. But painting over layer 0 is disabled for voxels/surface. SEVERAL DRAWBACKS: - Old shaders are disabled because shaders system was completely re-made.- Old panoramas are disabled, you will need to add them as HDR or EXR files from scratch. Advanced Member Gary Dave Posted April 28, 2016 Advanced Member Report Share Posted April 28, 2016 - Old panoramas are disabled, you will need to add them as HDR or EXR files from scratch. Does this only apply to people using betas? I would hope that when the next stable version is released we aren't going to get an influx of angry users who's panoramas have stopped working. Member ToreB Posted April 28, 2016 Author Member Report Share Posted April 28, 2016 The shader library was changed at version 4.5.29 Thanks for your answer, but please note that the version used for the instruction video is 4.5.33. Thus the new system should be in effect there, and be the same as my version 4.5.36. But I have far less shaders. I am a bit confused here... Carlosan
Taking a look... may be are the Koji shader pack Or Koji PBR custom
Contributor TimmyZDesign Posted April 29, 2016 Contributor Report Share Posted April 29, 2016 Most likely the person who made the instructional video just created a bunch of his/her own custom shaders. Those custom shaders are probably the ones you see in the video. Step 1: Right-click on any shader and choose "Construct New Shader" Step 2: Give the new shader a name. Step 3: Change the settings. Step 4: Now you have a new shader in the Shader Panel.
Advanced Member vidi Posted May 22, 2016 Advanced Member Report Share Posted May 22, 2016 Old shaders are disabled because shaders system was completely re-made. I gave today 3D Udate a new chance and try again ,but NO .... I do not like the new change in the scupltroom. Ugly shader for sculpting and all so pixelated and blurry .I can not work with, very annoying. seems for what I have since years so much love the 3D coat sculpt room, is gone now ? I roll back again
Carlosan
Why not recreate your old shaders ? Select MatClay_Clay Construct New Shader Choose Texture Go to C:\Users\user\Documents\3D-CoatV45\Shaders\Custom and open the namefolder with the old shader that you need to rebuild Usually the archived image is CustomSampler1.dds Press ok //edit thinking again... please list the names, i could recreate those shaders for you

I roll back again Sorry you feel that way cause the PBR shaders are actually MUCH. MUCH nicer than what we had before. Much more realistic...in fact there is no comparison between the old shaders and the new PBR shaders. They are so much more customizeable. But you can't please everyone, it seems. Reputable Contributor AbnRanger Posted May 22, 2016 Reputable Contributor Report Share Posted May 22, 2016 ...nonetheless, I have asked Andrew about adding a softness control to the Cavity and Bump parameters. That is much needed, IMO.

Any advice on how to obtain them? As Timmy Z pointed out, most of those are just customized shaders. They are super easy to create, and you'll probably end up with a broad set of your own in just one sitting, while working on a project. I may get with Andrew to see if he wants to add some to the default group. Some people will be super picky and criticize the heck out of them (someone already bashed the default ones, a few posts above mine), so I'm kind of torn about sharing for that reason.
Advanced Member vidi Posted May 23, 2016 Advanced Member Report Share Posted May 23, 2016 Why not recreate your old shaders ? I have try it of course also like I say is so pixelated now ,. I have now a tresselation flatshading surface in voxlmode, although i have turn it off. That is not real Clay feeling anymore I know it. I'm a Sculpter not only with digital medium. That was because I prefer Zbrush or mudbox . The nicely voxel mode and the feeling of Polymer and Plastilin Clay with a very smooth surface .
