If the UV map has seams, the texture will break.<br>In contrast,&nbsp;<strong>Volumes (Volumetric textures)<\/strong>&nbsp;exist in 3D space. The object is essentially &#8220;carved&#8221; out of this solid mathematical block, which guarantees the absolute absence of seams on any model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"how-it-works\">How it works<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Graphs in the&nbsp;<code>NGVolumes<\/code>&nbsp;window most often use nodes from the&nbsp;<code>Pattern3D<\/code>&nbsp;category (e.g.,&nbsp;<code>Voronoi3D<\/code>,&nbsp;<code>SoftNoise3D<\/code>,&nbsp;<code>HardNoise3D<\/code>) instead of standard 2D patterns. To determine coordinates, they rely on&nbsp;<code>inPosition<\/code>&nbsp;(global or local object coordinates) rather than&nbsp;<code>inUV<\/code>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"usage-examples\">Usage Examples<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This category is ideal for creating materials that simulate a solid physical mass:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Solid Wood:<\/strong>\u00a0Where growth rings pass through the entire object, looking natural even on cross-sections.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Marble \/ Stone:<\/strong>\u00a0Marble veins that pierce the object through and through.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Clouds or Spongy structures:<\/strong>\u00a0For creating porous materials (e.g., cheese or pumice).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"creating-your-own-ngvolume\">Creating your own NGVolume<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Open the Node Editor and start creating a graph with the\u00a0<code>inPosition<\/code>\u00a0node (preferably GlobalSpace, so the volume does not distort when the model is deformed).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect these coordinates to a 3D noise generator (e.g.,\u00a0<code>SoftNoise3D<\/code>).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add color correction nodes (Color) to colorize the grayscale noise.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Connect the result to\u00a0<code>outAlbedoColor<\/code>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Save the preset in the Volumes category (<code>UserPrefs\\NodeGraphs\\NGVolumes<\/code>).
