These can be created automatically (when&nbsp;Auto Retopo&nbsp;is used) or manually as you isolate different areas of your model for different purposes and topology layouts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Compared to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/manual\/workspaces-rooms\/sculpt\/\">Sculpt Room<\/a>,&nbsp;the&nbsp;Retopo Room&nbsp;is quite easy to digest, having merely four main areas to learn and use:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/manual\/workspaces-rooms\/retopology\/left-tool-panel\/\">Tool Panel<\/a>,<\/strong>&nbsp;where you find all of the tools for creating and adjusting topology, as well as the tools for creating UV seams and unwrapping your topology for further modification in the \u201cUV Room\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/manual\/workspaces-rooms\/retopology\/poly-groups\/\">Poly Groups Panel<\/a>,<\/strong>&nbsp;where you can isolate all of the areas and parts of your model that need specific topology and texture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/manual\/workspaces-rooms\/uv-workspace\/uv-preview-panel\/\">UV Preview Panel<\/a>,<\/strong>&nbsp;which does just what it says, displays a preview of your UV map. Don\u2019t mistake this for an area to edit UV. <br \/>This is done in the \u201cUV Room\u201d after a model has been \u201cBaked\u201d into the \u201cPaint Room\u201d.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/manual\/workspaces-rooms\/retopology\/menu\/\">The Retopo Menu<\/a><\/strong>&nbsp;&#8211; which makes available all of the \u201cImport\/Export\u201d functions, \u201cBaking\u201d options as well as \u201cSaving\u201d and \u201cRestoring\u201d of your specific Retopology work.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Make sure that you also pay close attention to the Options that present themselves in both the \u201cTool Panel\u201d and the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/manual\/workspaces-rooms\/retopology\/top-bar\/\">Retopo Top Bar Parameters Panel<\/a>&nbsp;(the top, horizontal panel below the \u201cMenu\u201d area). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The settings available for each type of work you are performing automatically change in both Panels.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"883\" height=\"31\" src=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/image-44.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-10132\" srcset=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/image-44.png 883w, https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/image-44-300x11.png 300w, https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/image-44-768x27.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 883px) 100vw, 883px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The Retopo Tools allow you to construct new topology by means of working with individual polygonal vertices, polygon edges, polygon faces, and polygon \u201cstrips\u201d (rows of connected polygons).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All created topology can automatically be set to \u201cSnap\u201d to the nearest Model surface. Entire loop networks can be created instantly by using a combination of Through&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/This is a very powerful tool in the retopology arsenal. With it you can quickly retopologize cylindrical objects such as arms, legs and other similar items. You can draw lines by clicking and dragging the LMB. There are a few commands local to this tool:  Clear. This will clear all draw lines. Smooth. Smooths all current drawn lines. Delete. This will delete your currently selected line. Here is a more in depth look at it. Firstly we\u2019ll start by making some strokes in the viewport to cover the whole of this leg. When this is done, a spline will loop around. We\u2019ll create a few loops as to have some area to create polygons in. Next we\u2019ll create a perpendicular line within the confines of the area of the mesh, opposed to the previous lines. You\u2019ll notice that line is a green color instead of orange. Green lines mean that it is discontinuous. Orange lines mean that is is continuous and makes a full loop around to connect back to itself. Now let us take a look on the top toolbar, we\u2019ll need to select a number of segments.  And press ENTER. You will get ring of polygons with corresponding number of segments. 250px-5.1.7.jpg   Now we\u2019ll try something a little different from this\u2026 We\u2019ll instead of drawing lines around a mesh, let us draw something of a grid look within the mesh, instead of slices as before. Now press the ENTER key and you will have the area you urrounded with the strokes created as polygons.   Now let\u2019s demonstrate one more method here. We\u2019re going to draw a circle within the confines of the mesh, to create edge loops, or circles. Then we\u2019ll draw a perpendicular stroke to the circles that we previously created and then hit the ENTER key. You\u2019ll notice that it automatically created our entire loop based on the \u201cNumber of segments\u201d setting in the top tool bar, similar as before with the first demonstration we gave for cylindrical objects.   These are just some of the methods with this tool that you\u2019ll soon discover. Tutorial Retopo Room Pt.2: This video continues the walk through of the Retopology tools in 3DCoat, and includes demonstrations of the Strokes tool and basic Auto-Retopo usage.\">Strokes<\/a>&nbsp;<\/em>as well.<br \/>The beginnings of true Polygonal Modeling are also beginning to appear, function by function, within the confines of the Retopo Room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>New&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/dGBxYoUB9O8?list=PLF62F3C31216D2794\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Extrude<\/a>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/N3iQey9_Z30?list=PLF62F3C31216D2794\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Bevel<\/a>&nbsp;functions allow you to extrude and bevel both edges and faces of your topology, letting you add all new volume and detail to your original or imported models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"g5346232e51f7\"><strong>New features<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Added a Script command generator in the primitive tool, Sculpt, and Retopo rooms. You can save your actions in a script file, change your primitive parameters in the script and run it again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Added the support of Modeling and Retopo primitives via Scripts. You can use the retopo classes for creating the primitives in the Retopo and Modeling room via scripts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Added the new tools for creating 2D primitives for Modeling and Retopo rooms. You can create the 2D primitives (circle, box, plane, ellipse, N-gon, disk, triangle).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Added the Record Script button in the top menu. The button changes color depending on the record state. If the button is red, the script is recording, the blue button indicates that the recording is stopped.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8211; Added the boolean operations for retopo primitives in Retopo and Modeling room.
