For that, place the mouse pointer on one of the manipulator elements. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Instancer:<\/strong> This tool will help to make instances. Instances are references to existing objects, so they take almost zero memory (a memory-saving method of making duplicates of your voxel objects). <br \/><strong>Move:<\/strong> Move a surface area. Press and drag LMB to move the surface within the cursor, relative to the screen view. Use CTRL to move surface along the normal. Different Alphas give different results. <br \/><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/9IMeV18GOYI?list=PL0614F2A03AD725CD\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Fit<\/a>:<\/strong>\u00a0Fit one object to another one. You may mark corresponding features and place objects together. After approximate placing, you may do placing precisely; corresponding features will stitch to each other. <br \/><strong>Reproject:<\/strong> Allows the user to <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/Ev80q3ng_aA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>reproject<\/strong> <\/a>the details and vertex paint from one or more meshes in the scene to another mesh. Either to the entire mesh or locally using a brush. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bend<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Bend the object around the axis, which will bend or wrap the current Layer around the base of the gizmo. <br \/>Apply voxelized (it was in voxels) and switch to the Transform tool. So the topology changes are the result of voxelization. <br \/>Preview immediately means that the object is deformed even if the gizmo moved. Otherwise, the bend was re-applied only when the gizmo motion ended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Bend Volumes usage tips:<\/strong> <br \/>1) Create the volume to bend.<br \/>2) Select it to be current.<br \/>3) Press RMB over the curve, click &#8220;Bend volume&#8221;.<br \/>4) Adjust parameters and hide the original volume if you need to avoid destruction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Alternative method:<\/strong> <br \/>1) Go to &#8220;Bend volume&#8221; tool.<br \/>2) Select the volume to be bent as current.<br \/>3) Select curves to make your bending path.<br \/>4) Press &#8220;Bend around selected curves&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Special tips:<\/strong> <br \/>1) Press &#8220;Update volume&#8221; as soon as the source volume has changed. <br \/>2) Use a decimation slider if your source object is heavy. Then press &#8220;Update volume&#8221;. <br \/>3) The object is placed along the curve, so its vertical axis forms the direction along the curve. But you can rotate the object using the rotation sliders. <br \/>4) Use jitters to scatter objects randomly. <br \/>5) Use &#8220;Pick volume&#8221; if you need to bend other objects. <br \/>6) Note that the normal direction of the curve is VERY IMPORTANT. If you drag a point in space, the normal direction corresponds to the pen&#8217;s direction. <br \/>We recommend setting &#8220;RMB-&gt;Curve settings-&gt;Show radiuses&#8221; to get an understanding of where the curve normals are.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Bend Tool\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ist_xsHpJB4?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tool options:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Preview the rotating axes: It is important because, without that axis, nothing understood what happens there.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Preview Immediately: Preview warping action immediately.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bending radius:<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gizmo is the deformation center: The gizmo axis is the central axis of deformation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Max bending angle: The maximal angle of bending the object.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bending method: Bend both ends, Bend one side, and Bend another side.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Position: Translation on XYZ axis. Press X to restart the position to Global Space 0,0,0.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rotate: You can rotate More in Screen Space or selectively rotate on the XYZ axis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reset Axis: Restart gizmo rotation on Local Place.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Align to view: Align to the current view space view.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply: apply all transformations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Twist<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>In a twist or linear array, the object will rotate the current Layer around its pole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Tool Options:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Apply: apply all transformations.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Number of Segments: Segments to be placed along a circle or segment. Increases\/Decreases.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Twist angle: Twists the current object around the gizmo.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Step Scale: The distance between steps.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Overlap: Tapers each segment where they meet each other, simultaneously increasing\/decreasing the space between each spiral.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Position: Translation on XYZ axis. Increases\/Decreases the number of segments.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Start\/Final Angle:<\/strong> Start angle of the segment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Forward Step:<\/strong> Create a \u201cspiral staircase\u201d look: it will spiral the object upward.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Step Scale:<\/strong> The distance between steps.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Overlap:<\/strong> Additional overlapping between segments. This tapers each segment where they meet. The effect will vary depending on the object.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Position:<\/strong> Translation on XYZ axis. Press X to restart the position to Global Space 0,0,0.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rotate:<\/strong> You can rotate More in Screen Space or selectively rotate on the XYZ axis.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Reset Axis:<\/strong> Restart gizmo rotation on Local Place.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Align to view:<\/strong> Align to the current view space view.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Apply:<\/strong> apply all transformations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Array<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/OnZSJ5e2-hg\">Array<\/a>:<\/strong>&nbsp;Create an array of objects. <br \/><strong>Type Array:<\/strong> Linear, Circular, Axial, Along Spline and Rectangular.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"288\" height=\"181\" src=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/image-86.png?wsr\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11559\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Distance:<\/strong> distance for instances. <br \/><strong>Axis Type:<\/strong> X,Y,Z or Gizmo<br \/>Any Voxel Layer can be duplicated and rotated in number and angle from a central axis. <br \/><strong>Array count:<\/strong> set the number of copies in the Array Count tab. <br \/><strong>Instance:<\/strong> merge these copies as separate instances if you desire.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"281\" height=\"166\" src=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/image-82.png?wsr\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11545\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>The gizmo operates just like all the other gizmos, so you shouldn\u2019t be any stranger to it. Move the translate handler to get an idea of similar things you can do with it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Array Tool\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/OEkcDbXM1yg?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-background is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\" style=\"background-color:#f1f1f1\">\n<p>What you see in video is not a gizmo to control center of array, it is just enabled display of world axis (View-Axis). <br \/>There is only one mode in Array tool that gives you gizmo to control the center, it is Axial (radial) type of array. <br \/>All the others have only distance and angle controls.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Surface Array<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/OnZSJ5e2-hg\"><strong>Surface array:<\/strong><\/a> This tool is added to make an array of objects on the created surface or on the selected faces of the low-poly mesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Build surface on sculpt mesh. Then you can put the model on the Surface.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"282\" height=\"750\" src=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/image-85.png?wsr\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-11557\" srcset=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/image-85.png 282w, https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/09\/image-85-113x300.png 113w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 282px) 100vw, 282px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>1)<\/strong> The tool allows you to place a poly model (or volume object) on the surface. You can build a surface or select an existing one. Instead of a surface, you can use poly mesh. First you need to select the faces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A surface can be constructed in several ways by drawing splines on the surface<br \/>-Loft<br \/>-Strip<br \/>-Polygon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2)<\/strong> Load Low poly Model from file or select it from window &#8220;Poly Models&#8221; or &#8220;Sculpt Models&#8221;. <br \/><strong>3)<\/strong> Adjust parameters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Multiple objects usage tips: <\/strong><br \/><br \/><strong>1)<\/strong> Create the lofted surface.<br \/>a) Draw some splines on sculpting mesh, or cross sculpting mesh by sections.<br \/>b) After drawing spline (not Section) you can edit splines.<br \/>c) If holding Shift and editing the First or Last point of Spline, The spline follows a plane passing through the two extreme points and orthogonal to the screen. <br \/><strong>2)<\/strong> Load Low poly Model from file or select it from window \u201cPoly Models\u201d or \u201cSculpt Models\u201d. <br \/><strong>3)<\/strong> Adjust parameters, and you can hide the original volume if you want to better see new objects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tutorials<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to make these types of twists<\/h4>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"374\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Twist-Styles-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4861\" srcset=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Twist-Styles-1.jpg 374w, https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/Twist-Styles-1-224x300.jpg 224w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 374px) 100vw, 374px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Twist<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Philnolan3d: You could play with the Pose tool to get different designs. I just quickly did this with the Ring selection mode. Just by dragging my selection along the length near the middle, then looking down the length, I rotated the gizmo.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter multiple parts like the ones in the above image, you can try using the following method:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, create one piece of the object and offset it from the center of the scene, then go to the&nbsp;<em>Axial<\/em>&nbsp;tool (in the&nbsp;<em>Transform<\/em>&nbsp;section of the tools panel) and set up the number of additional parts you want and the position and orientation of the axis along which to generate the copies, remember to enable the Instance option&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/forum\/uploads\/monthly_2023_01\/image.jpeg.6ba0ff07aa85159c5ab7fad8da033d11.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/forum\/uploads\/monthly_2023_01\/image.jpeg.6ba0ff07aa85159c5ab7fad8da033d11.jpeg\" alt=\"image.jpeg.6ba0ff07aa85159c5ab7fad8da033d11.jpeg\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Once you&#8217;ve applied the Axial tool, you may find it helpful to ghost the newly created layers to make it easier to work on the original object; you can do this by ALT+left-clicking the ghost icon on the parent object layer.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/forum\/uploads\/monthly_2023_01\/image.jpeg.2f6222f48733112b5908d3ecb521fb10.jpeg\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"image.jpeg.2f6222f48733112b5908d3ecb521fb10.jpeg\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Having done that, you can use the&nbsp;Move&nbsp;tool (also located in the&nbsp;Transform&nbsp;section of the tools panel) to add the required gap between the objects.&nbsp; Since all the other objects are instances of the object you are working on, any changes you make will affect all copies of the object.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/forum\/uploads\/monthly_2023_01\/image.jpeg.b01171047ecd859a1503449fa6c3b975.jpeg\"><img of the tools panel) to add the desired amount of twist to the object(s)&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a
