Shown in the quick limited video but gives you the idea how it works.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed aligncenter is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Sculpting Layers - Sculpt Room - Intro to 3D Coat - 19\" width=\"700\" height=\"394\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nnqIQPGlClI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Simple Example: <\/strong><br>You have a head object completed. Now you can add wrinkles pores etc, non-destructively. <br>Plus you can add asymmetrical work to the head without altering the symmetrical base head model.&nbsp; Sculpt layers are indeed powerful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>2<\/strong>. For surface mode or voxel painting.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The above is not a tutorial or the best practice of using the layers panel mentioned above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Side Note. Create a simple model and test the sculpt layers out to see how it works yourself. <br>Of course, you are not limited to fine details. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>One thing to mention though is never use layer 0, it is for 3DC&#8217;s internal use.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>When testing the paint mode be sure to select Under the paint room View menu &gt; Show voxels in the painting room. <br>Your voxel or surface mode will disappear otherwise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The Sculpt tree panel indicates it is effectively a Hierarchy panel, much like the Outliner panel in Maya or 3ds Max.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>The LAYER panel is just like Photoshop&#8217;s Layer panel.
