No more limitations of classic pixel painting! Now you can create materials, masks, and effects using a visual editor (<a href=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/manual\/nodesystem\/node-editor\/\">Node Editor<\/a>). Any element, including rust intensity, base color, glossiness, or scratches, remains editable at any stage of your workflow. Change parameters and instantly observe the result on the 3D model in real time. Node-generated geometry can be converted into regular sculpt objects for further editing. With nodes, you can easily create volumetric and surface patterns. With nodes, you can create: Procedural Smart Materials ( <a href=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/manual\/nodesystem\/materials\/\">NGMaterials<\/a> ) that perfectly adapt to the curvature, shading (Ambient Occlusion), and other properties of your model; Procedural Masks ( <a href=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/manual\/nodesystem\/masks\/\">NGMasks<\/a> ) for generating realistic wear, dirt, scratches, etc.; Procedural Modifiers ( <a href=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/manual\/nodesystem\/modifiers\/\">NGModifiers<\/a> ) for procedural change of the shape or geometry of a model. In the code, they are often called \u201cDeformers\u201d; Procedural Filters ( <a href=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/manual\/nodesystem\/filters\/\">NGFilters<\/a> ), which store procedural post-processing filters. Unlike materials, which create new textures from scratch, filters take existing layer or object data, modify it, and return it; Volumetric Procedural Textures (&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/manual\/nodesystem\/volumes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NGVolumes<\/a> ). The 3DCoat render system supports an advanced physically based material (PBR\/PBM) model. &nbsp;It includes not only standard channels but also introduces a wide range of additional material channels, enabling the creation of physically complex materials with advanced light interaction and refraction effects to create the most realistic surfaces possible.&nbsp;The total number of all supported channels is 30. You can read more about them in the documentation, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/3dcoat.com\/documentation\/manual\/texturing\/pbmchannels\/\"><u>PBM Channels<\/u><\/a> section.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Procedural material and mask library<\/strong> \u2013&nbsp; We&#8217;ve also created a comprehensive library of built-in materials across a wide range of categories. It includes new and all legacy default Smart Materials, fully converted to the new node-based system. <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/8m41nR7_VBw\">Fabric<\/a> materials were 3D scanned by <a href=\"https:\/\/scanimat.com\/\">SCANIMAT<\/a>. A library of built-in masks is also included. The Object Tree in the Retopo and Modeling Rooms works in many ways similar to the Object Tree in the Sculpting Room. The Move, Rotate, and Scale tools manipulate a branch of child objects directly.
