  2. And for me there is nothing in the world that gives me more pleasure than working in 3D Coat with a powerful rig. I just love it. I love just messing around. I've really missed it every day of those two years.

3D coat just refuses to respond many a time

It doesn't matter what you originally created it with. From that GIF (we cannot see the polycount because it's too grainy/low res), it looks like a lot of LiveClay brushing was done, and that there is some self-intersections going on. Test on a new scene in order to determine if the mesh is the source of the problem. If it's still acting up, email support@3DCoat and send the work file through the HELP menu, so Andrew can take a look at it.
  4. Hi there i mentioned this after a few hours of the new release and someone said it was a "new feature" now I cant imagine any work flow where this is an actual help so, can someone tell me how i can disable this, or when this is going to be reversed, its really really a problem for me. I did see a mention somewhere that it was indeed a bug but i cannot find the thread again and i dont have a lot of time to look. so please dont jump on me for starting anew topic, i just want to know when this will be dealt with. i just got the update yesterday and its still doing it.

I kind of figured a way to make his lab coat, probably not the best way but looks good enough! Here's the final render.

    Colormunki Display calibration...

Thanks for advice, but I don't use night mode.

Brush Enguine problems getting too much

Oh, I see. He's doing a complete rewrite, it seems.

Brush Enguine problems getting too much

    I couldn't say I'm on linux ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Colormunki Display calibration...

Well, I still get this warm, yellowish tint... maybe I need to get used to warmer look, as previously both displays were quite cold in terms of colour.
  13. As i remember, multirres is completely broken. It requires a pretty big change in how store and calculate multiresolution levels that is not so much a bugfix but likely more of a partial rewrite of the system. Which is why pablo is making a new data system from scratch. source
  14. You're correct, seems he found a way to keep both methods. Not complaining

Brush Enguine problems getting too much

Didn't they just mention that the problems mentioned early in the thread, got fixed?

Brush Enguine problems getting too much

This has always has been an issue as far as I can remember, maybe things got worse but that's one of the reason I stopped using 3dc to sculpt.

What would be your dream Applink

This is how I work most of the time. I save the scene as an FBX ( Blender does not appear to have vertex colours on OBJs) Import into Blender , then I have to "activate" the colours with an attribute node . Its pretty straight forward. ( once I figured it out, that was the hard bit!) but can be time consuming If I need different levels of spec for each part. It would be great just to send the scene there with all the correct nodes in place.

I updated this mesh to sketchfab if you want to check it out, all done in 3Dcoat. https://sketchfab.com/3d-models/utility-bot-dab7bfb400834b27bb814d836eefe20e
  19. I've been doing that Chris P tutorial for the last few hours and is it ever fun. I'm really amazed because I've tried a couple times to pick up Blender and it was sheer torture, but now it's actually a pleasure to use. Normally when I start working with a new program there's always mysterious glitches that drive me into a hellish rage. That hasn't happened yet. I'd rank this tutorial up there with Pixelbahn's Maya tutorials on You Tube.
  20. Well, it's not an "either or" proposition. It's a "both and." Still, nothing really tops Voxel sculpting for freeform sculpting, without worrying about topology or self-intersection issues and other niggly little problems geometry sculpting can present. That's why I really prefer 3DCoat to anything else because of the flexibility to jump back and forth between the two, without having to worry about losing SubD levels and such.
  21. Hi again, I continue my topic. I started using Blender 2.8 but I still face difficulties with Applink. This error appears (look at attached image below). I can easly 'Send' object from Blender to 3DCoat but I can't 'Get back' from 3DCoat to Blender. Error ;/ Any tips?
  22. The Stuff Pablo is working on is truly amazing for Blender, once you start using the vox remesher, you probably wont go back to dyntopo. Funny how ZBrush went from a remesher workflow(dynamesh) to sculptris mode (dyntopo) while Blender is doing it the other way around. Having more options in Blender is always a good thing
  23. How does sculpting in Blender compare to 3DCoat? The sculpting developer is working on some interesting things for Blender 2.80. https://twitter.com/pablodp606
  24. I just had this problem after Windows updated itself to 1903. Reinstalling the Nvidia driver fixed it. I assume it installs an opencl.dll of it's own.

Taking a drawing I did a bit back and making it in 3D, kinda stuck on near final bit, his lab coat, any suggestions on best way to approach this? I started using the Retopotology tool, but was having some strange stuff happen around his elbow and due to it not being symmetrical it was proving to be a problem. Should I just go on and get the repo to work, or is there another better option to add clothing onto a model? Thanks!

[Solved] Autopo freeze with simple mesh

I think there was some issues with Auto-Retopo that had crept up in one of the recent builds, but Andrew applied a fix, thereafter.
