  1. I can do that, but the only mathematical problem is to what point scale and position should be attached. May be to the last drawing point?
  2. I really want to optimize 3DB for usage with pen. But there is no complete sceme how to do it well. So, may be you can help me. It could be good if you will tel how is it better to manage all that things simultaneously: - change radius, depth, smooth degree, opacity, focal depth - navigate camera - move, rotate, scale materials rextures over screen (now RMB is used for that purpose) Do you use keyboard during painting? About pen shortcuts - good idea, will do that. Erase when painting, invert alpha during painting only specular - very good, also will do that!

  5. Yes, 2.02 is done! The list of features: 1) New unwrapping tool, now it is wery easy to create uv-set for the model 2) Topological symmetry is implemented. You should define two symmetrical faces to define this symmetry. After that you can flip layers with symmetry or copy the layer to the opposite side. 3) LWO files can be used like brushes. 4) 5 types of color pickers are implemented - all of them are movable and resizable 2) Stability improvements, many bugfixes 3) Focal shift slider implemented 4) Flipping sliders on top panel (Focal depth & smooth degree are also there now) 5) Storing last folders 6) Now you can make your own custom fill patterns in Fill tool. They will be applied with cube mapping with soft edges. It allows to make seamless cube mapping 7) Cube mapping improved (in materials menu): preview during texture moving is now very convinient, cube mapping becomes seamless Clone tool and Sculpt tool now uses alpha even if it is not round. 9) 3DB stores window position 10) Drawing performance improved 11) Hue variation is add to color change tool 12) You can pick top layer by pressing 'H' 13) Navigation with pen improved (it was difficult to navigate with pen)

  7. Some peoples have written me that they was able to run 3DB on Mac (Intel platform) using Cross Over office. Do you use Mac on Intel platform?
  8. It is really better, but it looks strange that his mouth is black. Also you can use occlusion tool to improve shadows and details naturality.
  9. It is possible to create only short hairs in 3DB (if they are like bump). Also it is possible to try to make hairs using transparency. But is better to make long hairs in Carrara.
  10. 100 M polygons? If it is no secret, what kind of model is it? Landscape, organic model? How is it possible to put these textures into ps3 texture memory? (256m) Of couse, if you use dxt1-5 for color and 2bytes/normal it is possible, but I think if it is game there should be at least several models.
  11. It is easy to tell that I have no: 1) I have no dongle 2) I don't know what is the nature of the dongle 3) I have no any code sample of it's usage
  12. If you want to use 4 textures 4096x4096 then you shoulf operate with mesh on 40-60 millions of polygons (there are 64 millions of pixels on 4 textures). I can add support of textures 8192x8192 (it costs me several clicks), but it will require a video card with 600 mb on board. 8192 x 8192 x 4 x 2 = 536 870 912 ( 3DB needs to create 2 32-bit textures, 1-st - color & opacity, 2-nd - normals & specular )
  13. Ztreem asks for carcass mesh resolution changing. Really there is no such option. Ok, I have add this in to-do list
  14. You can use non-square textures. You can select width and height independently. I have not allowed to work with textures less then 512 because of paddding problem. If texture is small it is difficult to make 1-pixel padding on the fly. Now it is better to work with texture 4096x512 and then decrease it's size in some external program.
  15. Yes, I seriously look at the perspective to support 3d mouse. Several peoples asked me for that. The only problem - I can't buy that device in Ukraine. It is possible to do that support using someone who will test app. But it is no easy way. But really, I want to make 3D mouse support more and more. Do you want to take part in tests using 3D-mouse?
  16. Yes, now we have one man in our team that can check writing in english. He works with us not so long, so grammar in 3DB is still not so good, but the situation will be improved in future. That man knows english very well.

  18. Yes, importing normalmaps is mathematically difficult problem. But veeeery many peoples asked me to do that. So... may be I will do it. But to-do list is ling enough

About pressure and transparency: press 'E' - there is 3 modes for tablet - (1) radius and transparency depends on pressure, (2) transparency depends on pressure (3) nothing depends on pressure Smudge is already in to-do list. Rimasson havs told the truth about blur. Pinch (collapse) is in Sculpt mode, but it works on vertex-level, there is no tool like pinch on pixel-level. Ok, it is also in to-do list.
  23. What is the difference between Low-poly smooth model and non-displaced low-poly model?
