Paint Room - Decals that slide along a surface possible?
Carlosan replied to popwfx's topic in General 3DCoat
Hi. Is enter working for you ? I pressed ENTER and nothing happens.. Im using transform / copy tool but need to warp the image pasted, over a curved surface. I need to place a tatoo over an arm following the curved mesh copy/paste let scale and deform.... but cant find how to warp. The tool do a plane camera projection... so when i place the image... the image is deformed. is not following the mesh surface ty -

1- Clipping distance start/end 2- this model is big O_o Try to transform it to keep inside the grid size, DoF size... Why?if model is big... the default light need MORE strength -intensity- to lighting the far zones... but have to much strength over the near zones... burning the final render 3- Open Camera menu -top right- Rotate around... there is some options

lol yeah... is true workaround - make an own checkerboard texture - import it at Layer1. Textures > import > diffuse map - Export the Layer Layers > export > color only export current layer1 selection - open the saved psd and there is 2 layers: - Your checkerboard texture applied to the mesh - The wireframed UV map
-
to see wireframe use: paint room layers export color -only export current layer selection- open the saved psd file in photoshop or gimp you can see 2 layers: - one with the color with multiply blend - the another one the wireframe UV map

Same situation here hobbist gamedev with very limited budget I use Blender + 3DCoat... and dont need any1 more both programs have pros and cons... but the integration is awesome... and you can supply the lacks of one software with the pros of the another. 3DCoat is a good Swiss army knife but... take in mind that is a step learning curve... the workflow isnt traditional... every room have to many features... and every room is like a program by itself.

hmmm lets try Paint Room Menu Freeze Freeze painted pixels Use this option to freeze all the painted areas of the current layer. The freeze will be active for any layer when selected. (the freeze tool)
