Hi
Please contact Andrew directly asking for this.

3DCoat has a surprisingly powerful cloth simulation built in. You can use it in voxel sculpting room. You can either use your own cloth object or use the default one. You can interact with the ongoing simulation by brushing over it with mouse. This gives you nice way to make the result look more organic.

The preview window renders at a Higher quality. You would need a 8k map in the smart material to closely match it.
You will be limited by the resolution of the smart material images that are used to make the smart material and your final texture resolution for your image maps. Also is how well you are using the UV space, that is how your uv-islands are filling up the uv space.
I make all-my smart materials at 4K.

Version 2024.27 is out !
The RAW voxels export/import (useful to bring voxel to any your own engine) improved, now it may export import PBR data (color, gloss, metal). This is important because this is the only way to get this sort of raw information out of 3DCoat.

please send your issue at

Voxels are better for organic modeling and the initial blocking out phase while the Surface mode is better for hard surface modeling since it's a lot easier to retain hard edges while manipulating your model.
