  1. It's based on Blender 2.83 alpha. You can grab it here.... https://www.bforartists.de/download/ I find the interface a lot less cluttered but it's using the industry standard shortcuts instead of the regular Blender 3D. Cheers & stay safe & healthy... Kenmo
  2. WOW... I can not believe someone would be so critical of the wording of a message in a beta software. From what I gather from being on this forum and using 3D Coat for quite a few years, Andrew and his team are very dedicated to this software. I only wish their were more dedicated like him and Michael Gibson (MOI3D). The final software products Microsoft & Adobe sell seem to have more bugs and issues then Andrew's beta copies of 3DC. Just my 2 cents.
  3. After purchasing & then watching Concept Masters volume 4 by Sebastian Luca, I thought I would try creating a medieval castle type windmill. Here' my feeble try. Everything was created 100 in 3DC's scupt room except for the waterwheel. I created it in Moi3D. Everything else tower, support for waterwheel, & water trough are 3DC.
  4. I use Windows Snipping Tool for capture a screen capture of the MOI workspace IF that is what your asking. https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/help/13776/windows-10-use-snipping-tool-to-capture-screenshots
  5. Yes still updated. Ver 2.5.6 was released a month or so ago. https://nevercenter.com/silo/ As far a Nvil. Yes I've tried it a few times but for some reason I really dislike the interface even though it's quite customizable. If I was to use Nvil, I would go with the Rocket3F route as it's based on Nvil and has an interface I could live with. AND has an app link or bridge to 3DC. After Wings3D I went to Hexagon3D when DAZ gave it away free along with Daz Studio. I like Hexagon 2.5 very much but it's as unstable as a teenage gal on rot gut whiskey on a ladder triying to skate on a NHL ice rink.
  6. A month ago I built a new computer and installed 3DC onto it for testing reasons before I migrate all my 3D tools and possibly photo editing & 2D illustrating software. I like to test 3DC on the new Ryzen 7 3700x. BUT I still use my old pc i7-4770) as it has all of my brushes, alphas, models, materials, etc installed on it. Sometimes after running 3DC on my new computer, I will shut down and launch 3DC on my old computer. However I get this message. I fully understand why I get this message. AND agree with the reason. When I was a sys admin I had to monitor the desktop software licenses as the apps where installed on our servers. Corel, Word Perfect, Lotus, etc frequently ran audits to make sure we were in compliance with the user licenses we purchased. This was about 20 years ago or so. HOWEVER the issue is sometimes I have to wait 10 to 20 minutes after shutting 3DC down to launch it on the old computer (and vice versa). Is this length of time normal? If so no problem. I can live with it. Just wanted to know if there was an issue somewhere. Cheers & many thanks. Ken
  7. I simply love the Blender App Link. However I'm curious if you are considering one for Nevercenter's Silo3D which is still being updated? Love the simplicity of Silo 3D 2.6 as it kind of reminds me of the very first 3D modeler I used, Wings 3D. If not. It's no biggy. Just curious. Cheers Kenmo
  8. Can I ask what video card you are using? I ask as I just built a Ryzen 7 3700x and still using an older Nvidia GTX 750 card. I do have a GTX 1060 in my I7-4770 which I use as my daily due to the large Lightroom catalog of 15,000 photos and images. At some time I may transfer my photos over to the Ryzen 3700x and them relocate the GTX 1060 to the 3700x. Or use the 3700x only for 3D and the I7 for photo editing and 2D. Cheers kenmo
  9. Just purchased the Blender Addon "Bmesh Clean" for cleaning up Sketchup meshes after being imported into Blender. I opted for the Pro Pack Version which includes plugin versions for Blender 2.7x & 2.8x. Since free Sketchup addon for Blender I' mentioned earlier in this thread presently only works with Blender 2.79. Only purchased last night and been very busy with my photo editing. However from the few tests I've done, it seems to work well converting tris to quads. However a few ngons remained in the models and where not converted to quads. Maybe an option or parameter I overlooked.. I still had to some manual work on the meshes. Bottom line, I can't complain about the $15 bucks USA I spent ($20 Canadian is what it cost me). Cheers everyone , stay safe & healthy. https://blendermarket.com/products/bmesh-clean-add-on
  10. Last week I purchased at Artstation "Concept Masters Volume 4". Sebastian Luca uses Photoshop, 3DCoat and Keyshot to produce some really neat comic book like line art images. Although I did not learn much about 3DC, I really enjoyed watching the video and opened my mind to the his design style. https://www.artstation.com/artwork/2xzkKe For $4 USA it was one of the better purchases I made this year.
  11. Carlosan - I thought 4.9.37 was MAC Os only? BUT I do see it's Windows as well...COOL...

    Flight at Sunset

From the album: Kenmo's 3D Art

Rendered in Vue with postwork using ArtRage & Photoshop. I modeled the zeppelin parts in Hexagon & Groboto3D. And assembled the parts in Hex. The Zeppelin was uv mapped & textured in 3DCoat.
  13. I have a similar issue in the retopo room using 4.9.34 GL. I happens mostly when I use the quad tool. I also had this issue with 4.9.33 GL. I just posted about it in this thread.
  14. I've been using 4.9.34 GL version on my recently built Ryzen 7 3700 & GTX 750 and find it very stable. I 've also used it up on my I7-4770 & GTX 1060 and it was fine. The only problem I've had when I using the Blender app link plugin and moving a model between Blender 2.9 and 3DC. Also in the retopo room when using the quad tool I have viewport issues where the camera will start all on it's own zoom far out or zoom really clse.
  15. The only issue I been finding annoying is flipped normals. And this is NOT a 3DC issue. It's an issue with Sketchup models. A simple fix is to resend the part back to 3DC and select inverse normals .
  16. I agree. Andrew deserves alot of thanks & praise for his hard work & efforts!!!
  17. Sounds like a good free alternative to ArtRage. ArtRage is not expensive but free is always better. I do love and enjoy ArtRage. But did not upgrade from ArtRage 5 to version 6. I must download Krita and give it a spin. Already have Photoshop CC, Painter 2019, Painter Essentials 7, Clip Studio for my 2D fun... :-)
  18. I found a neat model of a midly customized 1946 Ford on 3D Warehouse and brought it into Blender 2.78. Saved as a blender file. Opened it in 2.82 and sent to 3DC via app link. I don't like spending too much time in Blender 2.78 as I find it very confusing. BUT I enjoy Blender 2.8x. One issue and it's not a big problem for me but each part of the model had to be sent individually to 3DC. I suspect it's the nature of modeling in Sketchup and saving each model piece as a Sketchup component?
  19. I found a plug in for Blender 2.79 that imports Sketchup files into Blender 2.79. The present version does not work with Blender 2.80. I did not have Blender 2.79 installed on my computer. But I have 2.78 and 2.80, 2.81 & 2.82 installed. As advertised the plugin would not work with 2.8x. However I did install it on 2.7. Once I got the model into Blender 2.82, using the 3DC applink in Blender I sent the file into 3DC's paint room. WOW...quite pleased... https://www.blender3darchitect.com/blender-3d/how-to-import-sketchup-files-to-blender-2-8/ https://github.com/martijnberger/pyslapi/releases Armed with 3DC, MOI3D, Blender & Daz Studio our hobby has gotten to be quite affordable. And throw into the mix Hexagon Silo3D & Vue Creator.
