Spaceship Scene Development
Martin Maximilian Michl replied to Martin Maximilian Michl's topic in Finished Projects
Hey ho I pushed this little prop from sculpting to retopo to baking without any problems Now the texturing with smart materials is pure fun. 3DCoat is such a great program, once you understand the whole concept of Autopo, UV Sets and baking, it works for you and letz you focus on creativity. Thanks a lot to the Pilgway Team *** So the next step will be to tweak those materials and then sculpt the moon surface. -

Spaceship Scene Development

I just discovered the "use free form" option inside the pose tool I think this could do the trick. but here comes another question: is it possible to deform a group of objects at the same time. the pose tool only works for one Vox layer at a time. and it doesn't seem to work for children of a parenting layer (what would be great) -
Spaceship Scene Development

here is my first question: for the windows bulley, I would like to bend a cylinder to the curvartion of the ship I did not succeed doing this with the warp tool, and I don't see any other tool capable to do so. So I constructed the bulley(window frame) by booling objects. Still bending/deforming would be so great, because it would allow me to add details while the object is straight, and then deform it into position. Thnx Martin -
Hello, I am working on a prop for an animation its a cartoony spaceship. The working process should be intuitive and artistic, so its a perfect job for 3D Coat. The astronaut already exists in Maya. Rendering will be done with Vray. I would like to start this thread to show my development, as to ask some questions coming up. Also artistic comments are welcome. Hope you enjoy Martin

Hello I suffer sever system crashes when I bake AO, but also under other unidentifiable situations. This makes it almost impossible to use 3D Coat. system specifications: Dell Xeon Precise Tower 7910 20 Corre XEON e5-2604 v4 @ 2.4GHZ 80Gig Ram Dual Geforce GTX 980Ti Windows 10 pro 3D Coat 4.8.10 Problem occurs in 3D Coat OpenGL and DirectX Report: 3DCoat seems to use my graphic cards on a special high level monitor goes up to high performance and temperature then it crashes my whole system, leading to a instant shutdown/restart this occurs under normal usage after a while and always when baking AO I recently changed the TDR values of the registry to 60 (as recommended by Substance Painter) but this didn't solve the problem. I will attach a video showing the process to illustrate the problem It would be great to hear if this is a known issue, for it only occurs on this machine (Xeon, Dual GTX) Thnx for help Martin

Hello, sorry if I might ask a question covered before I have a model that I imported with several shading groups for better selections texturepainting worked like a charm, but now as I export the materials (color, meatless, roughness, normal) I get an extra map for every SG It would be great to get only one map for every material aspect, cause the UV´s have a unique layout thnx for your suport Martin
