  1. Hey guys. Just curious - what's the best way to set up the lights in the scene when I'm painting? I'd like for the model to look as close to the way it'll look in Maya as possible. Thanks!
  2. I think it's a hardware issue. My Cintiq doesn't even work with my PC Quadro card, but works fine on my Macbook. Dell's sending me a new Quadro, so I'll see how it goes with a new card, an older driver, and the newest Wacom driver... I won't be able to get to it till next week, but I'll let you know how it goes.
  3. Last time I tried starting it, it said there were serious errors with my NVIDIA Open GL Quadro FX 3700 card. Now what?
  4. Yeah, I deleted all folders and uninstalled 3dCoat. Interestingly enough, I couldn't find 3dC in my currently installed programs, so I had to uninstall from the 3DC folder in my Program Files. I reinstalled version 3.2, and the icon's on my desktop, but it's still not showing up in my control panel's "currently installed programs." Very strange . . .
  5. I read an earlier thread about this issue, and tried installing new Wacom drivers, but 3DC still crashes when I try starting it on my Windows XP 32-bit desktop. Any help?
  6. Can I bring in a model that I've created the basic color texure in Photoshop, but would like to detail it in 3DC? What's the exact workflow to do something like that?
  7. What will happen with my model in other applications (Maya, for instance) if I export a painted object from 3DC that has overlapping UVS?
  8. I just discovered 3D Coat in the Silo forums, and I'm very excited about it. It looks like an amazing addition to my workflow - which is now Silo to Maya for animation. I'm considering buying it, and was curious about how much will the price go up after July 15th? I personally think it's a big mistake to raise the price - it's a VERY attractive point, especially in light of Modo, ZBrush, BodyPaint, and Mudbox's inflated costs. I think the 3D Coat app really has a great chance to go up against the "Big Boys," but only if the cost stays reasonable. True, "ease of use" factors in, vs. ZBrush's huge learning curve - but I don't think it will attract nearly as many users as it would with the low cost angle. Even Blender users can justify spending $200 on a powerful topology/mapping app. Plus, one person buying for $500 isn't better than three people buying for $200, and three people spreading the word about the software is a lot more valuable than one. Anyway, I'm downloading and trying the software - and if I do buy it, it will be before July 15th. Much success to you! Sruli Broocker www.srulibroocker.com
