  1. I want to export the exact same mesh like working in Surface Mode. Exporting Quads or ProjectedQuads changes the original Mesh since they convert back to Voxel first... And raising Voxel resolution won't work since a polygon is much more precise and always looses detail.
  2. Would be nice to export the temporary mesh that gets created when working in Voxel Surface mode... Because of the conversion the mesh looses quite some details applied in Surface Mode.
  3. Nobody has this problem? It's happening in every version of 3DCoat until today...
  4. Even with a fixed resolution Smooth seems to work internally with a higher resolution in it's working area ... would be great to call the new function "Relax" and make it possible to influence it's depth and overall relaxation :-)
  5. Is there a way to deform several Voxel Volume layers at once while keeping the objects in the layers independent? I didn't find a way to select multiple layers in VoxTree in the documentation, would be great to know if this is possible. Thanks!
  6. I tried the different Depth/Smoothing/Falloff styles, they all dissolve small details. Overall it makes more sense to smooth in Voxel mode, Surface Mode Smooth creates edgy Voxels when switching back...
  7. The Voxel Smooth function is nice, but it erodes the object and dissolves it finally. It would be great to have an additional function that doesn't shrink the object, but that smoothes it and keepes it basic outlines In short: A Smooth that also pushes back the surface along its normal Best, Robert
  8. When cleaning up models with Voxel artifacts it could be very helpful to select and delete sub-objects (closed, singular entities with the current voxel object) easily, also having different selection methods, for example Lasso with a "object detection softness" allowing to remove "grain".
  9. It would be great to have a tool like "Sphere", but mapping the pressure of the WACOM tablet to the depth of the stroke. So it could be quite easy to draw intertwining hairs for example... Maybe it be called "Depth Sphere" It also could be useful to take pressure into account when 3DC is tracking where Spike/Snake objects and deciding how they are connected to the 3d base object.   10. Using Smudge in Voxel Mode often creates blocky artifacts, even with a soft brush. I'm not exactly sure when they appear, seems to be happening when the radius of Smudge is larger than the thickness of the object itself. Please take look at the simple example and use a single Smudge stroke with Radius 70 to get these blocks... Since there is no sub-object selection it is also very hard to remove the artifacts from the scene manually. Thanks a lot, Rob smudge-bug.rar
  11. Even though the Voxel Performance is quite nice I really would love to have a "Low Res Mode" for ultra-fast Voxel Sketching to create basic shapes. Scaling the model is a possibility, but the tools are not scaled accordingly which isn't very intuitive. You also can't use the Value Spinner but have to Type Values for bigger Sizes. Best, Rob

I know that the faces are not smooth themselves, but when importing them the Voxel Importer could take Normal Smoothing into account like in the other Import modes (PerPixel, Microvert), where it is called "Auto Smoothing Groups". Sure making multi-million poly meshes helps, but with lots of details its quite impossible. A global Voxel "Smooth All" helps, but fine details are in danger too. Best, Rob
  13. When importing FBX or OBJ for Voxel Mode the Smoothing Groups get ignored. Is there a option to evaluate them and not creating an edgy, non-smoothed voxel object? Importing my FBX/OBJ files into other 3D software or viewers shows that they are smooth, just 3DC ignores this data. Thanks a lot, Rob

  15. Even in 3.1 it is not possible to place palette windows (like UV view) outside the main window, this would be a really helpful feature! Stretching 3DC to 2 Monitors makes it very slow on my graphic card, since it optimizes only for the 1st screen. Would be nice to see this feature coming, Rob

  17. How is it possible to customize the Navigation keys? I would like to click in the scene (not an object) and use LMB to zoom in/out instead of translate? Thanks, Rob
  18. That's clear to me, but by looking at the results closely (and having worked with other voxel software before) I have the feeling that this could be solved with a "sampling threshold" allowing to create a voxel also when a geometry is not filling the voxel 100%... Best, Rob
  19. When using very fine structures like "palm_leaves_segment.obj" with the Snake Tool almost no geometry appears in the Voxel object. The only solution I found is using a higher resolution, but some kind of Threshold for OBJ to Voxel conversion would be more useful. Is there a function like this hidden somewhere? Best, Rob
