  1. Excellent AbnRanger! Thank you for the video tutorial.
  2. I'm far from being an expert on 3DCoat, but on my older system, CUDA made a remarkable improvement in speed.
  3. Photoshop Projection http://www.pilgway.com/~javis2/DP/DP005-PhotoshopProjection.mp4 or... You can edit layers in photoshop, shows UV map. Just click save in Photoshop and the object in 3Dcoat is updated.
  4. Thank You Andrew, Staff, Web guys and Tinker! Great stuff and I love 3DCoat!
  5. Yeah, there is a tutorial movie on it, darned if I can find it now though.
  6. Well, must say that using 3DC is a pure joy. Not having any formal training in art or anatomy, I did this from my head and am somewhat pleased at my first adventure in to humanoid shape. I figure if I repeat this about 10,000 times, I might get good at it using 3DC. I started with a capsule and built it up. I'm sure there are better ways. Used the default helmet included with 3DC, just added some horns. Quick render in Carrara 8 Pro with just a basic shader. Needs more smoothing and better definition, but I was anxious to see it. heh
  7. Nine months is a very long render time, but it sounds as if a quality son was the result.
  8. Have you watched the video in tutorial section on UV? It shows how you can re-connect islands.
  9. Yeah, one of the folks here has a video on making clothes using retopo. So yeah, a polygonal modeler already exists in 3DC.
  10. I think one of them, not sure who it is, hurt his foot somehow and is convelescencing. Guess though some E-commerce is being done at home to office?
  11. Does grouping in photoshop work in applying changes back to 3DC? Haven't tried it, just wondering.
  12. heh heh Some good and subtle animation technique in that video. Interesting, wonder what is involved and how much CPU time and resources is needed to render that?
  13. Merge is pretty cool, I sometimes play around with it to get ideas - heh. Plus, many objects have been supplied, including an ear.
  14. Looks good and should make some antennae go active looking for the latest cyber toy or even work flow tool. Did notice a couple of typos: 1. slicing off an arm or carving ahole = a hole 2. great for putting clothes on a characrter = character - number "1" a bit more unfortunate than the latter.
  15. No more features? I was so hoping for left-handed Retopo tools...
  16. I watch a sci-fi movie, watch the news and then a cartoon or two - not necessarily in that order. Then I watch the neighors going in and out, their pets and watch the traffic - people walking. To quote one the greatest philosophers of all time - Yogi Berra - "You can observe a lot, just by watching."
  17. Just noticed that specularity has an opacity slider. (doh!) http://www.3d-coat.com/wiki/index.php/File:3.3.2.jpg Also by reading and watching tutorials, specularity can be smoothed out by holding down shift key. (boink!) Wall Head Bang (repeatedly) Reading is fun and educational.
  18. Hmmm, I feel I need to wash after that, but not sure why.
  19. Where is the P-tex? Just downloaded the latest version.
  20. For some reason, my strange brain comes up with a vision of the Opti-Grab devices in the movie "The Jerk" with Steve Martin. Let's hope there are no cross-eyed medical conditions left after using 3D monitors.
  21. Don't know a lot about it, other than PTex is used by Disney and doesn't require a UV map - which would be a huge time saver imo.
  22. Well alrighty then! Best of luck and may everything go right the first time. Hope you have time to stop in and let us know to what degree your eyes are getting crossed.
  23. Yes! Yes! and Yes! Fantastic Update Andrew! I'm all over this update like a chicken on a june-bug. Time to play! zoom zoom zoom.... Thank you Andrew and Team!
