  1. I added a new 1GB ram module, now I have 3GB, the maximum that windows xp 32bit accept, as said the OS recognizes it without problem, but when I start 3d-coat it shows that available memory is still only 2GB (just the same amount as it did before the memory upgrade), is this normal? do I need to add even more memory to please 3d-coat?)
  2. what are those setting that asures you that the model will be perfectly centered and oriented in 3d-coat (when it is already perfectly centered and oriented in 3dsmax)? thanks.
  3. thanks for the answers, I know 3dmax so I'll try. Most of my models are simmetrycal textured... in order to make better use of the texture image space, well I guess every body doing symmetrycal texturing is looking for that.
  4. ok thanks phil, but what about the normal map?
  5. hi i got a voxel model, I retopoligesed. Now I wat to put the retopo mesh in the Uv mode in order to unwrap it, and I want to generate a normal map for it from the voxel hi-res. How to do it? Other question what mode of painting (once solutioned the UV thing) must I use with the retopo model. As you can see in the picture I only got the half part because it will be simetrically textured so why waste space in the texture? (is this the right way to do it? I mean for models simetrically textured ? thanks.
  6. poor Sabertooth Tiger (im downloading new version to try freeform primitives!)
  7. Deform surface using discrete control points just like low poly modeling but generating a smooth interpolated surface (provided by voxels of course). That will be ideal for some organic (or not) surfaces, after defining that way the surface the artist (in a new layer by example) could add direct detail using the already existent surface tools. I know that this could be made in part using other app before and then importing to 3d-coat, but if were made as I described it could be a lot more productive and interactive (by the use of layers, going to adjust some control points than get back to add more fine detail, etc..., I think you get the idea).
  8. I think the big problem with z-brush is still its interface. And you need plug-ins to do things that in 3d-coat are built in. So if I was pixologic I were concerned about that mainly, for its next release. Anyway this z-spheres II is still very interesting, if they follow this way they'll end up with a complete skeleton -> muscle -> skin -> animation system!
  9. Hi, I think quadrangulate is ok, think that a quadrangulation implies a retopo.
