  1. oki, here is the problem... I use "repair scanned mesh" tried both surface and voxel modes, waited 20 nmin...... nothing... so I force quit... the mesh in 30 mil. polys, PLY PC spec . xeon E5 2687W @3.1 (2 proc) 128 GB ram 2 X GTX 690 4GB
  2. mmm... confused... the model does not import in last 3D Coat V3 either... 3DCoat does not even read the file in both version (v4 and last V3) smaller meshes read but when it opens, the progress bar flashes constantly h/
  3. hey cool... I like the new menus at startup... only thing is... for retopo a real big mesh, it imports... nothing... I thought maybe the mesh was bad, so I opened it in modo, and it worked fine.... (the mesh is around 45 mil. polys obj. format-) any idea...? h/
  4. hey Johnny... it does look useful.. but looking at price tag as you said, it's more directed to large studios... no demo sucks... hehe h/
  5. found this app.. http://www.tandent.com/lightbrush/
  6. holly shit AbnRanger, thanks for the warning... well motto is.. never go to Ebay.. I never did.. for some reason I was always very suspicious about that system... too easy to get robbed.. h/
  7. Hello... sorry to use that thread... but for the paint room, when using the clone tool, no matter what brush or the falloff value, I always get hard edges... is there something I am missing.. or is it mandatory to use a pen and tablet...? Just curious.. h/
  8. Hello... I tried abnRanger workflow.. and it worked like a charmed.. I was stunned to see the navigating speed with an almost 12 millions polys.. awesome... Digman.. the texture I need to bake is really high def 8192 pix... so to get the same amount of precision would require a real high def mesh.. but nice workflow too... Thanks a lot Guys.. 3D coat really rocks da house ! h/
  9. hello... I often have scanned meshes up to 10 to 15 millions polys.. with a UV color map.. so I import it to the voxels, and then to a retopo, then a uv, then I baked it to the paint room.. all perfect.. But my question is.. How do you bake the color from the high scanned mesh to the retopo mesh in 3D coat...? Stop me if I'm wrong, but I can't find a way to do it.... any idea...? Thanks h/
  10. hey Artman, thanks.. well I import it in the voxel room.. I checked merge without voxelizing..now I tried importing with "import for vertex paint", and it works. Thanks Artman !
  11. Hello... I have imported in voxel room a PLY file with vertex color... but I dont see the color ... am I missing something..? Thanks
  12. oups... correcting the above.. wanted to say in vers. 3.7 (official latest) it works perfect. h/
  13. sorry to quote myself, but is there a fix planned...? This is a rather big issue... EDIT / I tested the same object with version 3.2.03, and the clone tool works perefctly and unlike 3.7.11b (which takes at least 2 min. ), when clicking the clone tool , it activates almost instantly.. so yes it is a bug.. at least looks like..
  14. recorded a small video... btw, the model is a retopo from voxels using Ptex.. (only one Ptex UV space) http://screencast.com/t/X6DwUOLPEz0X
  15. ahh thanks for that Johnny, I will try it today.. that might work.. h/
  16. Thanks Johnny, ...yes but what about Voxel mode...?
