  1. Hello Andrew.. Yes Beta tools is checked on.. what I do.. - open a default sphere in Voxel room - apply a shader to it - click paint room - nothing there Do I miss something...? Is there an extra step to consider..? Using 3D Coat 3.7.00RC Cuda on Win XP64 Thank you h/
  2. well maybe I'm missing some info, but if I switch to paint, I see nothing... any info welcome ... h/
  3. yes nice start, I think the arms are maybe a bit too long no...? h/
  4. I-materialize accepts also OBJ. files... but well if we can have it, why not..
  5. looks very cool... Can you transfer it to a Ptex later ...? h/
  6. hello.. maybe i am shooting wild, but I have always had the feeling that hard edges only where better in a usual 3D app.. It it from a 3D scan..? if so I would try more something like this.. http://www.rapidform.com/products/xos/overview/
  7. well... no idea if it's possible, but IF it is... then it is at the 3DCoat level... Andrew...? h/
  8. hello... yes I am talking about the paint room... well it all depend of the uv.. taking it to PS with a Ptex'ed map won't work, and you'll end up with seams all over the place... h/
  9. hello.. Really needed.. Can we have a smooth tool, but that would act on the entire layer or object level..? Thanks h/
  10. hello... sorry for the lag.. busy.. hhe well I am using it in MV room and with a Ptex'ed model... Texture size is only 4096x4096 150k polys the thing is... with default parameters cavity scale at 1 and cavity radius at 4... it gets pretty fast... BUT try to raise cavity radius to 18 or so... and It takes around 20 min. here... ... and I might add... for a so so result... can we have something like this...? http://www.enrichpro.com/en/richdirt/index.html Thanks.. h/
  11. ahh good.. thank you very much Greg..
  12. hellooo.. hehe thanks Ranger.. well you are taking twice about the fill tool... maybe you wanted to say the smooth tool in first instance..? the smooth tool for diffuse maps I am talking is indeed slow and just absolutely not efficient at all... as for the fill tool, yes I do click fill layer, but soooo slow I can take some vacation .. hehe just the fill tool alone is ok, but I am talking about the fill tool along with the "more in Cavity" activated... so what is the Mantis you talk about.. how to use it..? can you point a tut..? h/
  13. hello... with 3.7, the fill tool coupled with More in Cavity takes AGES.... 10% done after 20 min. lol... also the smooth tool in paint room (microvertex) is just not good at all... it blurs very very little.. so useless.. (on diff map) .. h/
  14. Andrew, if you read this.. well that's the way I imagine it should work.. Imagine working with voxels... I would retopo a much simpler mesh, make UVs (or use Ptex), then move it to the paint room, where I would output a nice Vector Map... h/
  15. ok, now that I can talk, you should know that Maxwell 2.6 has vector disp as a new feature... BUT, so far, the best bang is Mudbox... sorry to say Andrew.. If one wants a vector disp from 3D coat, the only way is to sculpt (lol) a base object in the sculpt room..
  16. ... hey... is DS working on a painting app...?
