  1. I mentioned this out of memory issue a couple of versions ago (Linux), when autopoing, it didn't always happen, I have 64GB or ram, isn't that enough? T.
  2. Latest Linux version: Does anyone else have the problem with painting "more on bumped and more on dent" It does nothing here. T.
  3. Just testing the Linux RC1 and after creating a sculpt, autopoing it, fixing a couple of mesh issues, then trying to bake it (microvertex), a dialog popped up "Fatal error Out of memory. You should increase the amount of virtual memory in system settings". I have 64GB of Ram, what's going on? My system activity states that 3d-coat-64 is using only 361.5MB of system memory and 419.1MB of RSS memory and 59MB of shared memory. After closing that dialog, I got another stating of instability in the program, but the process seemed to work. T.
  4. Trying out the new Linux version, and yes, the (trial) appears in the window header after a minute or so, but everything works as it should. T.
  5. While in the paint room, in the Texture editor, I selected TexMetal from the drop down list (just playing), and my model turned the same colour as the background and I cannot get it back to the way it was. T.
  6. Beta 14 Linux I tried an Autopo on a simple sculpted sphere with mountains moved out of its surface, placed guides on it, but it never completed, I left it over night, seemed to lock 3DC up though, this is not good. Also, same problems as Digman. Progress bars would be a no brainer, as without them, you have no idea what is going on when 3DC locks up. T.
  7. Carlos, why is it so secret? if he is working on an improvement on Autopo then this would be good news and something to look forward to. T.
  8. I didn't see any mention of him working on it on his Tinker Code page; https://farsthary.wordpress.com/
  9. Even the Blender Strokes method would be a start, I don't expect 3DCoat to achieve the same results as zremesher, but it appears that Andrew has moved on to other things and just left Autopo as is, I think Re-topology is incredibly important if you want to get a decent, low poly mesh sculpt with its displacement map out of 3DCoat, this worked much better in previous versions. I just hope Andrew reads this and spends some time in this valuable area of the program. T.
  10. It's a pity really, I would like to do every thing in 3DCoat. BTW: 3DC runs well in Centos 7. T.
  11. I just cannot get good results from the Autopo, I use Zremesher in ZBrush and it gives very good results with the factory settings, but Autopo gives very bad results no matter what settings I use, I followed the manual to place guides but the mesh always turns out bad, what am I doing wrong? is there a trick to it? T.
  12. Still no Linux update? How long does it take to move from one version of CentOS to another? T.
  13. Sergyi, hows the migration to CentOS 6 going? Really missing the Linux updates. T.
  14. "The latest build for Linux is postponed because 3D-Coat now uses FBX SDK 2015.1 which requires GLIBC 2.7 but development system has been built around CentOS 5.10 with GLIBC 2.5. Upgrading the development system will take some time." Does this mean that you will be upgrading to CentOS 6 for your Linux development/builds? T.
  15. Want to give this another go, any chance for an up to date, current Linux build? Thanks, T.
  16. Don't seem to get the CTD with moving stroke points (yet), but the reason I left it for an hour is that I had other things to do. What I have noticed is that when adding curves, if you click on the mesh you may lay down a curve point without knowing it and they are hard to see, I did this a few times and had all kinds of problems until I saw the points later on and removed them.
  17. After performing Autopo on the same object a few times 4-5, now, the last Autopo, 3DCoat has locked up and its been doing something (I don't know what), for over 1hr, so I don't think its coming back any time soon.
  18. Digman, I agree totally, great job Andrew, my ZB is now gathering dust in the corner, the only problem I can now see in 3DCoat is that a lot of knowledge on the program is needed to get good results out of it, a lot of settings don't come set to a position which would suit the new user, it takes many trial and error attempts to get a good result, the surface brushes have evolved to become very user friendly due to the amount of effort which has gone into them, I think more effort should be put into the creation and manipulation of the UV's and the automatic generation of zones for easier baking and removal or reduction of the specular highlights on the zone spheres, this highlight is very annoying.
