  1. Bug in latest Beta: Render room settings are lost when I move to the sculpting room and back. I haven't tested much, but I have shadows turned on in the sculpt room. Can anyone else confirm? Also, I haven't tested, but has the issue with UI scaling affecting Wacom cursor offset been fixed with 4k monitors in dual monitor setups where each monitor has a different resolution. I think you'll definitely want to fix that issue prior to release.
  2. Yeah, I think this is more powerful because it is non-destructive and remains editable.
  3. From my experience it's usually a key like SHIFT. - I think 10x slower would be a good starting point. (perhaps something that can be changed in options) A bonus would be to hold down CTRL for snapping. CTRL only to snap to regular measurements and CTRL+SHIFT to snap to smaller increments
  4. Slightly OT, but I think it's relevant. I'm wondering how Unreal 5 could change the game for a program like 3D Coat. In particular, not needing to optimize meshes anymore. I understand how it will work for meshes, but what about textures? In particular, will there (or is there) a way to export 3DCoat's vertex painted meshes with full PBR support? And the same question for Vertextures? This could be a seismic shift in the way game assets are made and one that 3D Coat seems well positioned to capitalize on.
  5. I think what he means is a way to make finer movements in realtime where you can visually see the changes as you're tweaking the values. Perhaps holding a modifier key while dragging a value or doing a transformation to reduce the rate of change by 90% or something like that. I'm not sure if it would conflict with other hotkeys, but perhaps pressing shift while dragging? And by the same token, perhaps pressing ctrl+shift while dragging the value increase the rate of change by 2 times (or something like that). Being able to press space to input a specific value is great, but sometimes you want to tweak something just a little bit and you don't know the exact value you want to use.
  6. @Andrew Shpagin A few suggestions 1. In select mode (retopo/modeling) can we get the option to automatically drop the previous selection when selecting something new? Also, I found that using the marquee tools for selection is really similar to Maya/Blender...where you can marquee select an open area to drop the current selection which is nice. 2. Now that we have Trace mode and it works with all the boolean functions, can we get a something similar to voxhide where we can use primitive objects or simple voxel layers or models as realtime boolean objects for a non-destructive boolean workflow? 3. I'm not sure if it's intentional, but being able to work with the points/faces tool in the sculpt room feels very liberating...I've suggested in the past changing the sculptree into a proper outliner, but perhaps you can leave it as is and then add an outliner as an additional window. Something that will allow us to manage all the different object types in one place. Voxel/Surface Sculpts, Curves and Poly Objects and then have some of the tools associated with the object type selected available.
  7. Agreed. I can't understand the anger from people using a beta version of the software with the amount work the devs are putting in and how they're really trying to implement user feedback. This is a very rare development style. I appreciate the hard work of the development team. Patience is a virtue and some of the posters both here and on the Discord could use some. I've been here since version 3 and it's incredible how far the program has come since then. I can see what 3D Coat is becoming.
  8. Picking request. Can we get a pick from center of volume under the cursor as projected from the view. This would be really useful for using the blob and sphere tools and others. If I want to draw a shin coming out of a thigh for example, in stead of the new volume starting from the surface pick point, it would be faster to have the volume start from the center of the form. I imagine that this would be a fairly easy calculation.
  9. Vox Clay. It happens on any of the default primitives after starting up.
  10. I think this is great. Can I put you in touch with some people that I know who make cars in Modo and other programs? I think their input would be valuable as well. I don't think they use 3D Coat, but they work on cars professionally. Not CAD based, but polygon based.
  11. There is a problem with Voxclay. Someone else reported earlier, but I haven't heard many other mentions. This is what I get.
  12. I think with all the functionality and the limited keys available, 3D Coat will need a more robust hotkey system. There should be options for global hotkeys that work regardless of what room you're in, and context sensitive hotkeys based on what room you're in and NVIL should be referenced in terms of how it will allow you to turn any key into a modifier key...so instead of relying on shift, ctrl and alt, you can set any keyboard button to be a modifier and have different actions depending on whether you press LMB, MMB, RMB, etc. This would also solve the issue of people complaining about too many clicks to do thing in the modeling room, since you could map several tools into a few more robust tools that minimize the number of clicks and tool changes need to do something. @haikalle was doing something cool with one of the retopo tools that was like that. Better to put the flexibility in the users hands to make robust tools like that instead of trying to please everyone with a particular implementation.
  13. If you are on a 4k monitor with UI scaling. That will be the source of the problem. If you either set the resolution to normal HD or set the UI scaling to 100% in the Windows display settings it is a temporary solution.
  14. You can also hover over your mesh and tap the f key to reset the camera pivot.
  15. Thanks for this clue. After testing, I think it's affected by Windows UI scaling. I've confirmed that I can get Wintab to work properly on my 4K monitor if I set the UI Scaling to 100% in the Windows Display settings. When I had mine set to 200% it scaled the brush location from my cursor by 200% from the top left corner, causing the offset. @Andrew Shpagin hopefully this makes it easier to fix if you are still tracking this issue down.
  16. I really like this. Especially the way you brought it to life with the animation. Great job!
  17. These are getting really good man!
  18. i7-9700 with 48 gb ram...I don't know what the bottle neck is when comes to 3D Coat. But I ran out of virtual memory due to disappearing space on C: No matter how much I clean things up it seems like different programs keep dumping stuff in temp folders somewhere. It's unrelated but does anyone know how to prevent that from happening? Premiere, TVPaint, I'm assuming 3D Coat and other programs all seem to cache stuff away on the C: I can't stand it.
  19. I just tested and I got to 63 million triangles pretty comfortably. A little slow, but it seemed like I could go higher if I wanted.
  20. Yeah, I'm using something else, but Andrew has confirmed that it's an issue of monitor resolution when you have multiple monitors and one is at a different resolution. I was able to fix by changing the resolution to HD
  21. Hey everyone, for anyone interested, I'm streaming my use of the 2021.42
