  1. Andrew Via Twitter : Older version of Rapid brush is insterted in surface toolset as Rapid2 tool. 8 minutes ago via Chromed Bird --- This is awesome...I loved that brush. I can't wait to try it out again when the new build is ready. -G
  2. I notice the same thing a while ago...i just figured that it wasn't designed to allow you to place the points in space and that they have to be somewhere on the object surface.
  3. Amen to that. First things first. I know this program will continue to improve over time...I can be patient.
  4. Briefly tried out the 4 point planes. I think you are onto something with this Andrew.
  5. 3D coat is bristling with potential. I would like to see Andrew and Raul connect the tools that are already within the program better...offering a less linear work flow. If you could effectively use retopo tools to create nurb or polygon patches on the the voxel surface, then edit them in the voxel room with the free form primitive tools, 3d coat would be the best. The tools are all already there...why not get them working more smoothly together. That way you could create a rough eye shape, retopo it with the edge flow you want...bring that eye patch back into the voxel sculpt room and use the retopo geometry as a way to edit the voxel form. You could sculpt and retopo in turns until your project is finished. This is something I would love to see. The potential for this type of work flow would be remarkable. 3D Coat would be the best. Voxels are the key ingredient. It would be the best of traditional modeling programs and free form sculpting rolled into one awesome program.
  6. I was thinking something easy to navigate both for the Andrew and users...where we could see all the feature requests in one list. If the feature that we want to suggest has already been requested, then we could just click a thumbs up button and the list would be resorted based on the popularity of the request. It would give Andrew a nice place to refer to when adding to the feature set. He would be able to see what features are most requested by the community and check them off as they are implemented (if feasible) The main things it should do User can create a request, vote a request up or down, comment on it. I'll see about possibly working on something like this. I'm not the greatest at coding or making web pages, but I think there are some Drupal modules that do this. There are a ton of requests scattered throughout the forums...it would be great to see them organized in one spot and see which ones the community is most excited about.
  7. Andrew, can you make an option so that the svg curve will stick to the voxel surface? That way I could start doing interesting effects on my sculpts
  8. Yes, I tried out the resample button in surface mode and I didn't notice much erosion of detail when I used the smooth setting. That could be a pretty integral part of any workflow.
  9. I can't find the Epanel anywhere...am I blind? Where is it? In the Voxel tab somewhere?
  10. I agree with Andrew... I like getting the most cutting edge version of the program and testing out new features...I don't mind that it doesn't work sometimes because he fixes it so quickly. Actually, a similar model is employed by Google, which has been successful for them. Ready, Fire, Aim It makes 3d Coat a constantly evolving and growing program. One thing that I think might help Andrew is if we had a place, similar to Mantis bug tracker where we could post our feature requests and users could go on there and vote for what they would like to see the most. That would allow Andrew to see some ideas from the user base and prioritize based on what is most requested (maybe a system where the most voted on requests bubble to the top of the list) Not only that, it would be a clear place to see all requests at once and stuff wouldn't get lost on random pages in the forums. I'm sure the excellent web developer at Pilgway could set up something like that no problem. To clarify, I'm suggesting having Mantis for bug reporting and something new for feature requests...just to keep things a bit more organized. -G
  11. Thanks a lot guys. michalis, I've been meaning to do something like that...I tend not to work from reference if I can help it. That's not always a good thing, since I'm not really bringing in any new information. Just relying on what I already know. I'll keep working with it...I'm figuring out some work flows that make sense.
  12. Very nice my friend! I like this last one a lot!
  13. New sculpt...practice on the face...from memory... It turned out kind of like a guy with a mask. Maybe a superhero? I'd like to try another one using reference... I think I'm getting a bit more comfortable getting smooth surfaces. Gotta keep working on it though. Cheers, Gavin
  14. He is right, the surface has to push back a little bit when smoothing...otherwise the surface dissolves and gets lumpy...I was thinking exactly the same thing last night actually. Perhaps instead of being applied immediately, it would be better if the smooth brush behaved a bit more like the paste, or muscles brush and finished it's smooth algorithm after the stroke has been made... Not sure how to fix it but the surface seems to give way too easily, leaving things lumpy and 'dented'
  15. This is a great idea! it would be really good for creating large environments and probably other things I can't think of now. Looking forward to seeing this in a future version of the program! -G
  16. Finally got around to fleshing this out a bit more. First of all, I have to say I'm really excited about Raul joining the Pilgway team. I am really excited...truly a blessing! Anyways, here are some images of the functionality that I propose. I have to say that, I believe this alone, would give 3d coat users tons of control over the shape of their sculpts. Combine these features with dynamic tessalation...3D-coat will be very strong. I'd like to hear what others think and if the images I included even make sense :P Cheers, Gavin
  17. Wow, This could be pretty cool! For those who don't know Raul has been developing unlimited clay in Blender... link to his page here --> Tinker
  18. 'Fixed problem of incorrect scale when usung Voxels->Toggle proxy. It probably was the reason of all problems with proxy scale.' (From Andrews twitter page) Good news! Not that I was experiencing the problem. But definitely good for those who were. Cheers, Gavin
  19. Nice work man, I especially like to girl the forms look really nice
  20. Thanks! I got it working...it wasn't nearly as complicated as I thought it would be. -G
  21. More progress 59 million polys! wow!
  22. Your work is very inspiring! How did you do the eyes in your first post?
  23. Cool stuff man, it looks like you're having a lot of fun!
  24. I agree, or at least a way to mimic working with poly's in the voxel sculpt room.
