I see where she dropped her torch. Plenty of work to do before a torch will be needed again.
There certainly is a lot of work to do in America, heck... all over the world, before that torch can be held high again.

" QuadStrips, they are not visible " because the button is a placeholder for the future tool ((next Beta?). Everybody get the same result you do.
Thanks Tony. Obvoiusly I understood that they were beta tools, but I didn't know if it was just a problem me and a colleague were having. Having seen the Raul vids, I didn't know if the stuff he was showing was included in the latest release.
Thanks anyway.
Ricky.

Hi,
Yeah, I will email him with the details.
On a side note... QuadStrips, they are not visible. I see the red dotted line being drawn across my sculpt, but no resulting polystrip. I obviously understand that that is a BETA tool, but has anyone else had this issue (I know of one other user who has experienced this problem).
Regards,
Ricky.EDIT - For reference, here are pics of the issue and having to go back to an older save to export and reimport (using save model to obj/lwo).

He asked if the app was stable enough to go away to his laboratory (so to speak) and work on some heavy, time-consuming things (probably layer masks). I caught a bug with the Freeze tool, randomly causing patches of the mask to disappear. This sounds like one he needs to squash before he starts on that.

Happened to me as well on high voxel count and many hidden items.
Shit... that will be it. High voxl sculpt here too. With all other layers hidden.

Had exactly the same problem today. Went back to the sculpt room and everything other than the main sculpt layer I was working on had disappeared. Layer name was there, but no content. Had to go back to a previous version, export to obj and bring them back in as voxel mesh.

Hey...good to hear from you again buddy! I too have been away from 3DC for too long. Need to catch up on what has changed. Noticed the Autopo has been improved a lot and looking forward to seeing QuadPaint develop.

Wow - there's a lot to look at in this upgrade. Thanks Andrew and gang.

Take a bow Andrew and the team. This looks amazing.

A frax fractal... 3DC image as mesh, some additional sculpting, PBR copper finish using overlay mode, Rendered in 3DC and Twistedbrush for postwork...
That's striking... I really like that.

Bravo Frederic! Stardom!

Pantarius took the first prize in 3D Squirrel contest!
There will be an interview for 3DArtist magazine.
I won't forget to talk about 3dCoat
Congrats man... all your hard work paid off!
-
Wow... retopo master!
-
Take a bow man, that takes some focus to do it by hand.
-
@Artman - thanks.

Am I correct in thinking that only the DX versions of the new 4.5 BETA are to be used, as when I try the GL CUDA version it still has an .exe from version 4.1.7D in the download and install (from the latest link at the beginning of the thread)?
Cheers,
Ricky.

Wow, that is going to be a bugger to retopo. Let us know how you get on, especially as it's such a hard surface model.
Ricky.

Yer, I decided to save my cash for the next 3DC update having seen the PBR videos Javis is kicking out at the moment.
Thanks for all your input.
-
Javis,
So ditch what you said yesterday and move straight on to this new build?
Ricky.

A lot of what I do is under strict NDA, which is a bummer, because it means I will never be able to show it. But if you want to check out my 2D work, visit my website http://rsldesigns.co.uk
Yer, the Benn stuff is on my sketchbook page, but some more shots are in this thread: http://forums.newtek.com/showthread.php?140836-Ben-Grimm-%28aka-The-Thing%29-WIP
Chin up lad... onwards and upwards!

My pleasure! And thanks. There is another video coming out soon for it. Keep an eye out.
Sweet!

Thank you so much Mr Jones! I will put some time aside this weekend and have a play. You video on Vimeo displaying the new features is excellent.

Sorry, this may sound like a stupid question, but is PBR in the current build, because I can't find it.
-
Sorry to hear that man. Hope he had a good life.
As for me... well, I haven't used 3DC recently, as I've had an influx of 2D work. I can't moan, as it's better than having no work on at all. Went back and re-did my Ben Grimm, finally happy with him now. But apart from that, I have nothing in the pipeline that will require 3DC at the moment, so it may just be personal stuff (if I get the time). But I don't think England is in any better shape than France, lol.
You busy?
Was 3d Coat 4.x faster than 2022.x?

This is an interesting read. I've been a 3DCoat user for years. Always used Intel PC builds, but went for a Threadripper Pro 5975wx for the latest rig.
I've found 3DCoat version 4 extremely slow compared to my old i7 hex core. In fact, I have the old PC still set up, so I might do a comparison.
I was having terrible waiting times with importing a obj/lwo file for use in the paintroom. UVs already setup and just needed to paint 8K textures.
I will report back when I have done a comparison, as I'm wondering if the latest version of 3DC would be worth upgrading too to resolve this issue, but it sounds like it's still an issue.
