  1. Gotcha. Thanks! However, this worked for my initial object but now I'm trying another test object and the texture just seems to bake out white... See pics.. Any ideas?
  2. Hi all, I wonder if anyone has any experience/hints for creating environments using 3d Coat? A lot of the tutorials cover individual objects but what are the best practices for building a complete environment? -Is it wise to try/possible to compose the environment entirely in 3d Coat or should I really be exporting to another 3d package? I'm looking at best practices for building a game level. Cheers
  3. Was this ever done? I have several reference meshes in the paint room, which means it's impossible to export them individually without deleting the others first.
  4. I'm doing some retopo work and I have a nicely unwrapped UVset which I did inside the retopo room, however, when I go to the UV room the UV set is not listed anywhere and no object is displayed. Do I need to do something first (Merge for pixel paint?) or am I missing something. Cheers
  5. I'm using 4.0.02 Trial Version. I'm using this until Steam update my pro copy to the latest version.
  6. Daniel. Yes, the object was editable...just the top part that wasn't. I managed to fix this in the end by duplicating the volume. The new duplicate volume did NOT contain the rogue voxels. I guess this is a bug rather than something I did then? Thanks all.
  7. I'm building a TV as my first project but I have a weird issue. Part of my TV base object has voxels separated from the mesh itself which can't be removed using the cutout tool or anything else. These rogue voxels seem to be part of the mesh and are affected by transforms etc but brushes dont seem to register its existence, so I can't brush it out. Picture attached to clarify my issue. Is there a workaround for this? Thanks all!
  8. okay cool! ...and yes I just tried version 4 trial and it does indeed fix the wacom lag.
  9. Silly me. I didn't choose the new folders to view inside the brushes or materials windows.
  10. I'm using the Steam professional version of 3d Coat and I'm trying to install some extensions. Unfortunately when I run the install extension command AND restart the application I see no difference to any brushes. I've tried this with all the extension available on the 3d Coat website but nothing works..Any ideas anyone? Version 3.7.18s1(GL) Cheers
  11. I just bought the pro version through steam but there is no update option in the software. Is it possible to manually update to the beta 4 version even though I bought the Steam version. P.S..I have some lag when using my wacom intous 5 tablet(mouse is fine) and I'm hoping the update might fix this.
  12. Ah, I don't have that option. I guess because the Beta trail has expired
  13. Hmm, i just tried that but still no object in paint room. To change it I just hit the V in the voxtree and turned it to an S. ..is that all I need to do to convert it to surface mode?
  14. I started modelling something in the Voxel room and then moved to the paint room to start painting but there is nothing there. Now I am sure I've done this before and it worked...is this a beta 4 feature only maybe? (because my beta tools trial just expired). Surely I don't need to do a retopo before painting.... do i?
  15. It doesn't sound like there is a big need to switch between the two. I was thinking that I should begin my hard surface sculpt (and create the initial volume) by just putting a bunch of primitives together but it doesn't seem to make much difference if I do that in the voxel or surface mode right? Cheers
  16. I am using the beta 4 version and the manual only refers to 'The Sculpt Room' whereas in actual fact I have a 'Voxels room'. In this room I can choose surface or voxel representation and although the hint says that surface mode is faster and voxel mode has more tools, my question is; What is the actual purpose of each representation and why should I use one over the other? Thanks!
