  1. also that checkbox keeps getting unticked. even if i save a new preset
  2. it was off, tried it with it turned on, same issue. these are my export settings ( they look different from yours) I think it was working until this preset stuff was added.
  3. and polygon selections mess up ( meant to be on nose and ears)
  4. having same problem with another mesh. here is screens shot. on the left is original mesh, on right is mesh i brought back in from 3d coat. I copied the uv tag to old mesh. and this is what i got..
  5. I export a mesh from cinema 4d, fbx, open it, uv map it, export it back as fbx, open it in cinema. Now this mesh it properly uv'ed but i can't apply the uv map to my existing mesh, because the polygon numbers dont match up. This wasnt an issue before not sure which version broke it. also i notice it welds overlapping points, since less points come back in then there where. but welding beforehand doesn't solve the issue either.
  6. I've been using 3dcoat for a while, but never had to do this specific task and cant find it for some reason. I have 2 meshes, a high poly and a low poly ( recieved externally). I brought in the low poly and unwrapped it. great! i then went to sculpt room, and brought in the high res one into a surface mode layer. great! now what do i press to bake the high res to the low res? i can't seem to find it
  7. yea, im not targeting this specific engine, just in general seems to be crazy with render engines now days..
  8. great, but seriously why is so much developer time being spent on this? am i missing something? the market seems to be totally over saturated.. Why is no one developing dynamics simulations? a realflow competitor perhaps? Character tools? etc... Or is this just the most lucrative market right now? A new render seems to be appearing every other month, perhaps more frequently..
  9. wow! that all sounds great! i guess its time to get onto the unreal train...
  10. ye, i got to say! that looks amazing!
  11. Yup def go with gumroad and his site directly. Can't really compare turbosquid to cmivfx. Turbosquid is a marketplace. cmivfx is not. If you want to see for yourself first hand, why the site turns my stomache. Email them and ask about making some tutorials for them. Ask about their numbers. Or when their site is being updated
  12. cmivfx only give their authors 40%, they do not pay anything up front, also they use the tutorials to pay people to do marketing, ( authors get nothing from this). and the guy who is in charge sounds like a used care salesman from the 90s. convincing me that the reason they charge 60% is because their delivery system prevents piracy and costs a lot to keep it up. And they also try to bullshit you into believe that by preventing you from selling your training on other sites, because: "they tried it, trust me, and it just always results in less sales" so while im sure some of the authors make great training, i would not support cmiVFX.
  13. awesome! coming along great!

  18. might've changed but last year i registered with a gmail address.. couldn't get to my old uni account.
  19. both maya and max have free full featured educational versions. ( no verification necessary) so theoretically you only have to pay for max/maya while you are actually doing work.
  20. i think he means to get rid of the darkness of the frozen areas, so visually you can't tell they are frozen, so they don't distrupt the look of your model
  21. yup, just epic news. and now i have zero excuses not to learn houdini...
